Had a really lovely apartment on the 1st floor overlooking the main pool and entertainment area. The food was really good with a speciality dish every evening. Much better choices than your regular Spanish all inclusive.
A bit of a walk along the sea front into Torremolinos or a 5 Euro taxi/1.30 Euro bus.
Generally friendly and helpful staff with room cleaning and towel changes every day.

This year we returned to Puente Real Hotel for the third time for a girls mini break. As always we had a great time. Apartments are basic but always clean and beds and towels are changed daily. The only downside this year was that the grassed area around the quiet pool was coned off leaving very little space for sun loungers.

Hotel was really busy and struggled to get sun loungers by the pool, also spent a long time queuing for meals and the all inclusive food/drink facilities. The staff were lovely and the complex was really clean and well maintained. This was our 2nd year in a row at the hotel but our 1st year was much more enjoyable.

Quiet. Food great though slow in clearing tables. Service in bars good, staff friendly. Apartments a bit shabby and no kettle had to ask for one. Otherwise we had a nice time.

Apartments were very spacious, modern and clean. Contained everything you would need. Pool was very attractive but very crowded even in early season. Stayed half board and food was delicious. Had a long wait sometimes for breakfast due to minimal staff working (think it would be worse peak season). Staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel had a fantastic location and we will definitely be going back next year.

This Hotel is in a good location at the far end of Torremolinos, towards Malaga. The hotel itself is a bit tired looking and could certainly do with a bit of love and attention, but this is made up for by the attentiveness and warmth of all the staff that we encountered. We stayed on an All Inclusive basis, and found the food to be of good quality with plenty of variety. Sadly, there are not enough staff to cope with the number of guests. I presume that in order to keep costs down (and this Hotel is certainly cheaper than other 4* Hotels in this location) they have skimped on staffing levels and tlc. There were always many tables during each meal time that were waiting to be cleared, whilst people queued at the door. This was a similar story at the main bar, where we regularly sat at tables which hadn't been cleared from previous guests.
I feel that, if these little things aren't important to you, this is a very good hotel choice for the price. If a more updated, modern hotel, with more staff is your preference, then you should be prepared to pay significantly more and consider perhaps The Riu, The Melia, Don Pablo or Sol Principe or Sol Costa Aloha - all very nice hotels with updated modern surroundings and significantly more staff. In summary, I would say that this is a good choice for the money and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

The rooms were cleaned every day as was the surrounding pool area. The staff and receptionists were very mannerable and most could speak a little broken English. No problem recommending this hotel.

Double Or Twin - Partial Sea View |
All Inclusive |
Booked partial sea view rooms but given 2 rooms where if you stood on a chair you may just be able to see the sea, the 3rd room was facing the garden with no chance of seeing the sea. Tried to change rooms at reception but was told that I had just booked a standard room even though I was showing them my voucher. All our rooms were clean on arrival and also cleaned every day. Food in the restaurant was very bland and the choice got worse during our stay as the hotel was closing the day after our stay (I wasn't aware of this when I booked). The restaurant staff weren't very helpful and it was a struggle to get a table for 9 as we weren't allowed to push tables together. Snack bar food was great so never went hungry. Drinks were good quality and cocktails were made to order and not just out of a machine. Apart from the restaurant staff everyone else was very friendly and really went out of their way to provide excellent service to guests. Would I stay again probably not as I didn't get the room I booked and the food wasn't up to standard.

Superior Double Or Twin - Sea View |
All Inclusive |
Once we had had the terrible experience of arriving to substandard rooms when we had paid for the most expensive superior sea view rooms and having been shouted at at reception and treated terribly as paying guests, most upsetting when the holiday was a treat for my oldest sons 18th birthday, very memorable! The other hotel staff, restaurant, bar, cleaners, entertainment etc were all very lovely and pleasant. On our last day we again had to encounter the unpleasant reception which we had tried to avoid during our holiday which was uncomfortable. The girl on reception would not book us a vehicle large enough for 5 back to the airport saying we would have to have to taxis. I explained that we had had a larger taxi from the airport but she just kept shouting no at me. I ended up having to contact someone myself using my phone internet and arranged a very pleasant 7 seater Mercedes transfer to the airport, no thanks to Puente Real! Would I go again? No.

The hotel rooms and communal areas are spotlessly clean, pool areas constantly cleaned thoroughly day and night, staff are friendly and helpful. The food is first class (theme nights .. Mexican is the best). Fantastic location, entertainment to is brilliant for all ages. The hotel has had a lot of refurbishments carried out over the winter which has made it even better than previous years.
