Almunecar is a nice old, typically Spanish resort. If you like proper scruffy Spain with an Arabic twist this is for you. If you like Torrevieja or Benidorm it is not!

A working Spanish town, much less touristy than such as neighbouring Nerja. Easy access to Nerja,Granada and Malaga. Buses to Almeria. Trips available to Seville,Cordoba,Ronda and others.

With two long beaches separated by a rocky promontory with steps to the top, affording great views of the beach fronts, a castle and excellent promenades, restaurants, bars and shops. This is a busy resort, slightly off the beaten track and offers a quieter alternative to Fuengirola.
