We were a bit out of Estepona, but close enough to get the bus into the lovely old town & the harbour area. Marbella & Puerto Banus are a 20 euro taxi away. Or take a tour or a hire car and go up the mountains and see some Spanish Spain, fantastic!

Situated in front of the main town centre is one of the most popular beaches, La Rada beach. Awarded blue flag status, La Rada beach offers clean sand with shallow waters ideal for children to play. There are lifeguards in attendance, sun loungers for hire plus water-sports and boat tours from the nearby marina as well as restaurants and bars along the promenade. For a secluded spot to relax away from the crowds, head to El Saladillo beach.
Things to do
The Costa del Sol benefits from around 320 days of sunshine a year making it ideal for those who enjoy sports and outdoor activities, of which Estepona has no shortage. Water-sports, tennis, horse riding and hiking are year round activities on offer. Of course the Costa del Sol is also well known for its many golf courses, there are excellent courses in the Estepona area and the Championship course of Valderrama is less than half an hour away.
Those feeling a little adventurous may enjoy quad biking or an off road Jeep safari. Selwo Aventura Park is a great day out for families. The park has an array of birds, reptiles and mammals including elephants, lions, cheetahs and zebras to name but a few plus adventure areas with hanging bridges, zip wires and camel rides.
Out and about
Along the marina and seafront there is an array of restaurants offering tasty local seafood specialities as well as traditional Spanish and international menus. Back from the seafront in the main town there is also a vast range of restaurants hidden down narrow cobbled streets waiting to be discovered and are well worth seeking out. The night-life here is lively with many bars and nightclubs, the bars along the marina attract a young crowd and is the place to be seen in the summer months. In the older part of town there is also numerous bars and couple of discos which open til late and offer a fun lively atmosphere.
Nearby places of interest
The old town has many places of interest including churches and monuments which are well worth a visit when staying here. Exploring further afield, popular tourist towns of Torremolinos and Benalmadena are just a short drive away and offer an assortment of entertainment venues, lively theme parks and water parks for a fun filled day out.
