Hersonissos is a cosmopolitan and fashionable town which is renowned for its plentiful array of cafes, restaurants and discos. In Hersonissos you can spend your days relaxing on the sand/shingle beach with its many coves or exploring the local villages with charming tavernas and pretty quaint Greek houses. The narrow old streets twist inland from the sea and contain a great choice of restaurants, traditional tavernas and shops for the perfect souvenir.
Hersonissos harbour is famous for its nightlife with its back to back bars and throbbing clubs and is popular with younger crowds looking to party late into the night.
There are many beaches along the coast of Hersonissos with the three main stretches of sand having their own small coves which are all within walking distance of the resort. There are plenty of watersports to be found and on Star Beach is a waterpark with waterslides and bungee jumping.
Exploring the surrounding areas could not be easier with a tourist train that runs to nearby Stalis and Malia. Alternatively take a trip to the traditional villages of Koutoulfari and Piskopiano with their narrow whitewashed alleys and authentic Greek tavernas.
Heraklion Airport is approximately 33 km away - transfer time approx. 40 minutes.
