Small but perfectly formed, enough for one person (me!) for a week. Trips available and a taxi service, which was a bonus for the dark nights back to the hotel - I have been in bigger resorts with no available cabs. Prices were overall on a par with home.

We only visited the village once but it looked a nice peaceful place.

There are 3 small and safe beaches in Panormos. The village is quite small and the people very friendly. Try the little train if you can. They have 2 trips of about 4 hours you can take. Well worth the effort.

It's very quiet, family oriented resort. No loud music or anything garish. Calm, traffic free, beach lovely as was every restaurant we ate in. Quite uncommercialised. We have been before and there were lots of familiar faces amongst the restaurateurs and shop owners. Close to places of interest which can be reached by bus which is quick and efficient.

There are two beaches here. The main sandy Limani beach is positioned infront of the village and offers clear and shallow waters which is perfect for families. A good choice of watersports is also available for those that want to spend time on the sea. The second beach, West Panormo Beach, is just 200 metres away and is much bigger.
For those that want to find the livelier nightlife should head to Rethymnon which is a 15 minute drive away where there is a wide choice of bars and clubs open till the early hours.
Heraklion airport is approximately 60 km away - transfer time about 60 minutes.
