Beaches

Boasting 16 km of stunning beaches, Nerja has no shortage for those looking for the perfect spot to soak up the sunshine. The main and most popular beach is Playa Burriana, it has good facilities on hand such as sun loungers for hire, play area for children, showers and water-sports including pedalos, banana boats, para-sailing and jet skis. The promenade behind the beach is lined with cafes and restaurants convenient for snacks and refreshments.

Things to do

A great way to see the town and local area is by jeep or buggy safari, both are excellent ways to see the countryside and are great fun for all ages. The tourist train is also a good way to see the town and is hugely popular with children.

Twice a week the town holds a market, visitors are sure to pick up a bargain from the array of stalls offering an assortment of goods. The history museum and donkey sanctuary are also well worth a visit and are a great way to spend an afternoon.

Out and about

The resort has an extensive range of restaurants offering everything from traditional Spanish specialties to international cuisines, catering for all budgets and tastes. Most restaurants are 'family friendly' and offer special menus for children.

Nerja has a vibrant nightlife with an array of bars and nightclubs open until the early hours. Plaza Tutti Frutti is the main hub of activity with a good selection of bars open til late and some offering entertainment or live music.

Nearby places of interest

Definitely on the the 'to do' list when in Nerja should be the Nerja Caves. The magnificent caves are one of Spain's most spectacular historical sites. The huge chambers contain wall paintings believed to be 20,000 years old and stunning natural rock formations.
