Been visiting the Pueblo for almost 25 years, it is a lovely place with many fantastic restaurants, bars, and places of interest, and the views from the top gallery are awesome. Well worth a visit.<br />

It is a lot larger than we thought from the Pueblo in the mountains down to the coastal area, and although the hotel is slightly isolated it has excellent local transport links with having bus stops right outside and the buses are very regular and very reasonably priced. We enjoyed the whole area travelling on the local transport along from Fuengirola to Marbella then onto Pueurto Banus which was easy with the bus links. The bars etc in the area all seemed nice.

Lovely Spanish village of white buildings set into a mountainside. Many individual shops and restaurants and very geared up to service tourists. Well worth a visit.

We dined out most nights as the restaurant in hotel was lacking any atmosphere and very empty at night, the bars and restaurants are lovely and they have a lovely chilled feel to them. Although TRH is the best location we will probably stay down the hill in Hacienda next year as we much preferred there last year.

This is a marvellous village in the mountains. One of the top tourist attractions in Andalucia. You cannot come to the Costa del Sol and not visit this Spanish village with its magnificent views!

The country location, the hotel is excellent being easily accessible by the frequent, reliable bus service to shopping and holiday spots. The whole area is spotlessly clean and tidy and the people most helpful to tourists.

The hotel was up in the mountains, away from the main attractions, so no late night noise, but several minutes bus ride away from the tourist areas and the beach. The Costa Del Sol itself was great with nice beaches, shops and markets to keep everyone happy throughout the day.

We visited Mijas last year on our first trip to the Costa del Sol and just had to go back for more. This charming white washed village is absolutely beautiful and offers spectacular views over the coastline below. It is full of charming restaurants and gift shops. We usually like to explore resorts we've never been to before however, Mijas is the first holiday resort we would go back to year after year. You can get bus to either Benalmadena or Fuengirola and explore the local area from either of these towns by bus or train. Both of these methods of transport are cheap and efficient.

We loved the "white village", shopkeepers were very pleasant as were the cafe owners and workers. We loved wandering round the village even though it was a lot of steps and very hilly, but we already knew that and it didn't bother us at all.

Mijas itself was a lovely village ruined by tourists. The area immediately around my hotel was a concrete jungle and I felt unsafe walking round along the cycle route near the hotel as the road was very busy. Needed a car to get around.

Lots of restaurants in Mijas and a further choice in Fuengirola down the mountain on the seafront. Lovely walks, either through the whitewashed streets or for the more adventurous, there is the mountain which has three levels of walks recommended. A true Spanish mountain village that retains the charm of Andalusia despite being a popular tourist attraction.

Beaches

Situated inland, Mijas is approx 15 minutes from the coast. The beaches of Fuengirola offers long stretches of sand with sunbeds for hire, showers and life guards on duty in the summer months. Water sports are available near the marina including sailing, jet skiing and windsurfing. Beach bars, cafes and restaurants are situated nearby for refreshments.

Things to do

The stunning scenery and surrounding area make Mijas a popular choice for walkers and hikers. Just behind the town there are many trails to explore up into the hills and mountain. Mijas Park features botanical gardens, church and spectacular viewing points over the surrounding area.

For those who don't wish to trek all the way to the coast to cool off there is a municipal outdoor swimming pool which is open until 9pm in the summer months. In addition to the swimming pool the complex has a bar for refreshments.

Out and about

There is a good selection of dining choices in Mijas - many restaurants and cafes serving traditional Spanish cuisines prepared with fresh local produce. The nightlife has a laid back atmosphere - there are plenty of bars to enjoy a relaxing evening. For a greater variety of bars and restaurants and choice of lively clubs head down to Fuengirola.

Nearby attractions

Head down to the coast to one of the nearby resorts for lots of family fun and entertainment. Water parks, zoo, theme parks and a diverse range of entertainment venues await you.
