Fabulous resort, everything was perfect. Food, room, sea, weather. The only downside is the steep climb from the beach to the restaurant/reception. I would not recommend to those who have children in the stroller. We always went to the beach and we had no problems getting a sunbed. Around the pool there are few sunbeds.

This was our third experience staying at a Mitsis hotel (visited Corfu and Crete previously) so the Blue Domes had a lot to live up to! Going for the last 10 days of July we knew it was prime holiday time so everywhere is going to be busy. When we arrived around 11pm we were greeted by absolutely lovely staff both at reception and outside hotel. We had been upgraded to a bungalow and there was a hot meal waiting in the dining room! This initial impression lasted the whole holiday! Our room was lovely (653) great for two people, we had a big living/sleeping area, dressing area with 2 wardrobes and a big bathroom with extra shower room at the end. Our terrace out the front looked over pools and paths (great for people watching) and was slightly nearer the beach than the main hotel. The maid service was good, always very efficient cleaning and the mini-bar was topped up every day. As it was so warm we were given 4 bottles of water each day which was so welcome to take to the beach/out with us. A lot of people have mentioned in reviews about sun loungers. Yes, they could do with some more, however the beach nearly always had some available. The pool areas seem very uncrowded due to the number of loungers, which I have to say is rather nice. There is a sun towel service for 20 euro deposit and you can change these every day. We took our own and just left them at the end of the holiday but that's personal choice. The staff overall seem lovely. They work extremely hard in busy, warm conditions. The main restaurant in the hotel got steadily busier towards end of July as we expected. The food was always of good quality, great choices and plentiful. Cannot fault it. Breakfast, lunch and dinner had super variety and you could not get fed up (so long as you are not a fussy eater!). All the local dishes were delicious. Staff in the restaurant are generally lovely and under a fair bit of pressure. A thank you and a smile goes a very long way. Some guests (not English) did not seem to even think of that! There are a whole load of other places to eat. The A La Carte restaurants at the beach end are superb. Italian, Asian, Mexican and Greek. The only one we couldn't get into was the Greek. The setting is fabulous and the food gorgeous. It's a much calmer atmosphere compared to the main restaurant at peak times. The booking system is a touch screen monitor at the entrance to the main restaurant and is somewhat confusing. Booking 2 days ahead is the rule of thumb and it's kind of pot luck, but we managed about 4 meals out. I have to recommend the Italian - it was divine! In addition to this, in the middle section by the round pool bar, there are more "snacky" type restaurants. There is Sushi, Pitta, Burger, German, Ouzeri (greek) and pastry/ice cream. Didn't try sushi or German. I cannot recommend the Ouzeri highly enough. The little plates of mezze style meals to share are scrumptious! Marinated octopus, eggplant with cheese, calamari - you have to try if you like Greek food! The staff in these places are again so helpful and warm.
On the beach there is a snack bar with melon, toasted sandwiches, rolls and hot dogs so you will not starve! My favourite was the beach area with ladies making fresh Greek "pies" which are like thin pittas filled with ricotta, greens and mince (variety of mixes) cooked on hot "stones" at their side. Very tasty snack lunch on the beach when you don't need another huge meal! The location is fab. The area seems to catch quite a lot of wind which I hadn't realised, but it was warm and so welcome because when it dropped, boy was it hot! The local bus stops at the hotel and is a fabulous service, we used regularly 1.80 euro pp each way. Where the hotel is situated isn't in the middle of a village or near to shops etc so this bus is an ideal way to get to Kardamena in about 10-15 mins. Alternatively we did have a car for one day (Source in Kardamena - half price of hotel Cosmos cars!) which was fabulous for getting around and seeing the island. You can cover a lot of ground in one day! As all the information says on the hotel, if you have mobility issues or injuries don't choose this hotel as there are slopes, steps etc. However we felt it kept us quite fit after eating so much! yes it was hot in the July heat but equally we felt we were not just sitting around the whole time! There are numerous bars as well - cocktails are nice (worth finding one you like by trying your way through the menu!) - yes they are not a UK £7 a pop stunning cocktail, but they are refreshing and a welcome change! Beer and wine are surprisingly good and obviously all drinks are just freely available. TIPS: Just a few pointers if you come to Blue Domes - The pools are all salty so take goggles - especially for kiddies! Take some beach/swim style shoes if you want to use the beach and perhaps go snorkelling etc. It is a shingley beach (not sand but it's pleasant!) and walking to the sea is hot! Also the shingle gives way and shoes are great - plus the shelf down into deeper water with a few stones/rocks is quick so I would really recommend. Do bring or buy a snorkel and mask - the underwater world is absolutely sensational! The water is crystal clear (and quite cool - v welcome!) and you can feed fish with scraps of bread from your hands as you stand there! Standard flipflops are all very well for pottering but having done a lot of walking etc they felt very thin and flimsy - I would really recommend more robust ones like fitflops or birkies just to give you more padding! Do go on a trip to Nissyros - the boat trip is lovely (about an hour ) and the island is so sweet. Standing in the volcano crater is just amazing you have to do it. Wear pumps or something - not flip flops as its super hot! Visit Paradise Beach and experience the bubbles from natural underground springs - just fabulous! Worth going for a day it's a lovely sandy beach and loads of watersports. 5 euro for 2 sunbeds and umbrella well worth it. Kos Town is busy and buzzy but recommend a wander and a coffee watching the world go by. With its various marinas/harbours you'll see some lovely yachts as well. A little more pricey as you would imagine but do go! Hippocrates tree needs to be seen - it's a bit sad and old but it is what it is! Also the castle is worth having a walk around - the views are stunning from the walls so take a camera - it's 3 euro pp entrance. Final tip - do try and say a few words in Greek to all the staff - they appreciate the effort! A smile, a thank you and general politeness will go a long way to getting the same back. A long review, but having returned only 3 days ago it's very fresh info! I would highly recommend this hotel on all levels. Don't go expecting stunning 5 star luxury that is totally exclusive - this is Greece after all but it's the best of Greece. It's a beautiful place, superb facilities, amazing food, lots to see and lovely staff - I would go back in a heartbeat!

Way too many incidents for an alleged 5 star resort. Reception staff are useless, no management whatsoever in the pool (reported an assault as a result of that). Sunbed reservation (not allowed but common practice) is hell, towel exchange is simply a ridiculous process.

Beautiful hotel and pools, poor beach, excellent food and restaurant choices. Restaurant staff are brilliant and service excellent. Congrats to Vita (Guest Relations).

What an amazing hotel. Staff were very friendly, place was spotless, rooms brilliant (we stayed in a family room) and the food was fantastic - such a good choice and every meal we had was excellent (although we avoid buffet apart from at breakfast). Very family friendly, or it was for us with a 4 year old.

We had a great time. The hotel was beautiful and the food lovely. All the staff were pleasant and eager to please. I would happily recommend the hotel to friends and family. The rooms were good, everything clean and the fridge restocked daily. Fresh beach towels available every day (for a small returnable deposit). Not enough sun loungers for all guests, but plenty on the beach.

It's our second time at the blue domes and every part of our stay there was first class. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, the entertainers are great with the kids even though some times our nine year old didn't have much activities on for his age.

Rooms cleaned and towels changed daily, food very good, plenty of choice, nice friendly staff. The people next door were very loud, also furniture moving around quite a lot, that was sadly the only thing that let it down. We did ask to move once but we were told they had no rooms available. We just put up with it.

We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon. The hotel were very kind and upgraded us to a bungalow rather than apartment. The room was a good size and the bathroom was decorated nicely, however some of the grouting around some areas was quite discoloured. The minibar is a nice touch in the room and we used it every day. They were very good at stocking it back up.

The resort is very nice, there are lovely fixtures and fittings. There are plenty of pools to choose from and we got a sunbed most days. The pools look impressive at a first glance however there were a few broken tiles and grout debris.

The beach was ok, the sunbeds and parasols were cramped. The beach bar was always well stocked and handy to get a drink and a quick snack. Overall the food was very nice, there's plenty of choice and we never got bored of eating. The pastry shop was great, we enjoyed their lovely ice cream. This was our first time stopping in a 5 star hotel and I think our expectations were slightly dashed. It is a lovely hotel but it definitely requires some touch up jobs in some areas. We enjoyed our time at this hotel.

Overbooked so we went to sister hotel - food same every night and very mediocre. Setting was beautiful. Nice beach. Drinks served in very small, flimsy cups. Staff on reception quite rude. All in all has potential to be great. Seem to be cutting corners to keep the price low.

We have now been to two of the Mitsis Hotels and they are superb in their attitude to customer service unlike, we have found, one or two of the other Greek island hotel chains. The food and accommodation are second to none. We would definitely go back to this hotel.

Lovely rooms, clean and bright. Staff attentive except check in at busy times. Mini Club and children's facilities very good. At the time of our visit English lady was running it and very good at managing multi cultural inclusion. Top marks.
Buffet food good but not excellent, grill is oily.
Breakfast to boil an egg is a farce. They should have boiled eggs ready. Many times there were arguments as you need to boil your own and people took them. Overall a good hotel. 4 star not 5 in my opinion. Pools nice but too cold when we went. Beach and loungers plentiful and good beach services. Dine around average but good option to escape the mayhem of the buffet.
