The reception staff let the resort down with their don't care /disinterested attitude, together with on the bland meals ok if you only eat pork. Closed poolside bar. The cleaning of the apartment took at least 10 mins, this consists of the making of the bed and changing the towels. Of all the hotels/apartments we have stayed in this was the worst. Would not recommend.

Excellent apartments. Super clean and tidy! Rooms very clean, crisp white bedding, comfortable beds, beautiful views outside the window. Good kitchen area in the apartment with toaster, fridge even juicer. Safe available for extra fee. Free Wi-Fi. Room was cleaned every day, bedding changed, floor washed. Beautiful spacious complex, nice and clean pools. Lovely food. We arrived late at night, so missed the dinner, but it was waiting for us in the fridge in our room. This was our second visit to this hotel, and we would definitely recommend it to others.

I can understand why reviews of El Duque Apartments vary so much. It's a 3 star hotel which is about right, it has some good points and some bad points. Plus points are the whole site is spotless, the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good, not a huge selection but unless you're very picky there's always enough to choose from and the themed evening meals are a nice touch. Not so great is the evening entertainment which is performed on a tiny stage and is dull at best. The bar next to the stage is tiny and there are nowhere near enough tables or chairs for guests. The bar closes at 11, all patio lights in apartments are switched off at 11.50, noise police are very strict so don't expect any late nights during your stay. The main pool is very busy, people were queuing as early as 8am for sun beds even though they're locked up till 10am. There is a smaller pool where it's quieter and the beds aren't locked but you'll need to be an early riser to grab a spot. Kids club is just ok, two young girls work hard to entertain the kids but they don't have great facilities. Other things to note is the gym is not free, %u20AC8 if you want to use it and despite the advertisement, there is no wi-fi. Plenty of shops and local market on the doorstep, the beach is about a 15 minute walk away. If you take a stroll down there in the evenings be prepared to be offered a meal, pair of sunglasses, watch or hair-weave every 5 steps. Overall, this is a nice place. If you're prepared to put in a little effort to entertain yourselves and your kids this place will give you a lovely holiday, we had a great time. If you want to be pampered a little more or enjoy the best facilities then you should look elsewhere.

Huge studio with opening (barred) windows one end and patio doors the other so no need for air conditioning. No kettle but electric percolator, juicer, toaster, fridge, TV and microwave. No hardship to use saucepan on ceramic hob for tea making. Electronic safe in wardrobe cost 16 euro for week. Bathroom large and airy with bath and removable shower head over. Spotless on arrival, plenty of towels and daily maid service at a time to suit. Couldn't hear neighbours. Hot water even late at night. Take your own tea towel, washing up liquid etc as not provided and ceiling fan also doubled as light so not convenient to use after bedtime. I was on 2nd floor so just left windows and patio door open instead. Other than these slight niggles room perfect.
Pools also perfect, one heated; loungers not released until 10am so no dawn towel booking. Pool towels available with deposit from reception. Beautiful setting, pretty buildings, plenty of space. Didn't join in daily activities as out most days visiting my family staying in more expensive hotel nearby. Of the two I much preferred El Duque and would happily stay there again. Evening entertainment under cover by the pool bar was varied and 'entertaining', not West End but easy watching/listening. Buffet restaurant service was divine. Efficient friendly staff, white linen tablecloths whisked away and replaced with clean as soon as table vacated, seating on terrace or inside. Themed food nights or international. Mexican fajitas to an Asian night which included some of the best and varied cuisine I have ever tasted. Always various meat dishes, some show cooked, spuds cooked as chips, boiled, baked, vegetables, pasta, sauces and seafood which over the course of a week included prawns, mussels, smoked salmon, smoked haddock (mmm...) various white and oily fish. Vast array of salads and cold meats to start, puds' a plenty, fresh fruits, ice creams where the choice of flavours varied each evening and if you had any room left, finish off with a variety of cheeses and biscuits! I was staying on half board so bought drinks and prices very reasonable both in the restaurant and bars. Breakfast equally as varied although I stuck to bacon, sausages, tomatoes, baked beans and fresh fried eggs with fruit! All the staff couldn't have been more friendly, polite and helpful. Other guests were mostly family groups or couples of various nationalities. Supermarkets and variety of shops nearby including exclusive Plaza El Duque and local market opposite. 10 minute walk to creamy sandy beach with sunshades, loungers and showers although the inevitable hill on the way home. Plenty of nearby eateries and sports bars, no visible nightclubs and the bus stops outside. Poor lighting and shortage of soap in lavatories by pool and in reception plus niggles with room only just lose this a five star rating. Excellent value for money and very enjoyable stay.

This is a great place for your holiday. A lot of families with children. Good and tasty food, nice two pools, great apartments, especially Edificio A, which have nice view to pool and to the sea. Not far away from sea (if you go to left side, you will find dark sand beach and if you go to the right side, there is a white sand beach). This hotel should have 4 stars, not 3. We had really nice stay.

Very nice large clean apartments. The only downside was that no TV stations were in English.
