The experience with this hotel was truly awful. When we first checked in, there didn't seem to be enough receptionists and we waited for half an hour. Then we were given a key and went up to our room, the key didn't work so I had to go back downstairs and ask them to fix it (after waiting of another 15 minutes).

Every time we sat in the hotel restaurant, the waiters did not know what we were asking for and there was often confusion. I understand that Spanish is the native language but this is the Marriott, and I would have expected them to understand some English? Once we forgot to sign our room charge bill (even though they had the room number etc) and they rang us at midnight to tell us we hadn't signed. My mum is nearly 60 and I said to them that they should have flagged this to us in the morning at breakfast, as the charges went onto the room anyway! However everything I said, I was given attitude in return and found the staff very rude.

Then on the last day, we went out for a few hours - we completely forgot the check out time. We apologised for this when we got back, even though there should have been some reminder in the morning (perhaps a phone call or a note under the door saying the check out time?) We were told we had 15 minutes to get out of our room otherwise they would charge us another night. As I mentioned, my mum is almost 60 so we had to pack in 15 minutes and change into our clothes in the hotel toilets downstairs. My mum had to re-pack all her personal belongings and clothings in the hotel lobby! When I tried to reason with them and explain, there was no compromise.

I am absolutely appalled with this hotel and would strongly advise most people to not stay there! It was poor customer service and my mum was in tears on her last day of holiday.
