Enjoyed La Casona del Patio. It is a lovely hotel in a good location if you want to be away from the Blackpool-style Tenerifian resorts but still an easy 20 minute jaunt down the motorway if you feel the need to do a bit of sun worshipping at beach. It is an ideal base to stay if you want to explore the fantastic mountainous terrain of Masca or do some hillwalking. We utilised the hotels stables and went on a guided 3 hour horse trek of the local countryside. Would recommend this even for those who are inexperienced riders as horses extremely calm though 2 hours would probably have been enough!
The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable but I have deducted a star as no tea making facilities. Breakfasts were of good standard with plenty of choice. We just booked bed and breakfast as we generally like to go out to explore local restaurants in the evening but there's not really anywhere to go nearby so we ended up eating at La Casona most nights. This ended up being pricey as you have to choose from A la Carte menu which is nice but sometimes we just wanted something more snack-like as we often ate well at lunchtime. There isn't really a bar as such in the hotel in the evenings although there is a communal lounge area but this wasn't really used by residents. A bar would definitely have improved the overall ambience and enjoyability of our stay and hence the loss of another star, we had lots of early nights on our week at La Casona!
