Cancun Hotels Mexico
The busy resort of Cancun is a hugely commercial resort that boasts miles of beautiful sand, many large shops, bars, restaurants and discos. There are many watersports on offer and a few archaeological sites that are worth visiting. With so much to see and do, Cancun is certainly geared towards the family market.
As Mexico's most popular resort, Cancun offers some fantastic hotels, bars and shopping malls. For those who simply want to relax in the sun there are some beautiful white, sandy beaches to enjoy. A visit to Downtown Cancun is well worth it as there is a greater variety of shops and bars and is geared towards the family market.Read more about: Beaches | Things to Do | Out and About | Nearby Attractions | Cancun Reviews

I wouldn't return to Cancun as again I was disappointed with the city - very dirty and we got hassled everywhere we went.

Cancun is a beach lovers paradise and offers some of the best beaches in the world. There is mile upon mile of beautiful white sand and clear blue seas to enjoy.
Beaches on the north side tend to be better for children, with shallow waters and gentle waves. They are also great for adults as there are plenty of bars, restaurants and water sports to participate in.
Shuttle buses to Isla Mujeres are available from some of the beaches and Playa Langosta is the departure point for submarine and dive tours.
The east side borders the Caribbean Sea and offers breezier conditions, therefore, higher waves which makes the beaches here perfect for sailboarding, parasailing and lots of other water sports. Due to the many activities taking place here, the beaches can get busy but are great for people watching. Not only are the beaches here great for watersports, some of them also offer some fantastic views.
Things to Do
Although there are some fantastic beaches in Cancun, there is so much more on offer. There are plenty of Mayan ruins to explore if you fancy getting away from the beach for the day.
If golf is your thing then look no further, Cancun is a golfers paradise. There are several first class golf courses, many of which have been designed by experts such as Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus. Not only are the courses fantastic but the surroundings are fantastic too.
Why not have a trip to dolphinaris, where you can swim with dolphins or even be a trainer for the day. It's great fun and such a great experience.
As one of the premier spa destinations in the world, Cancun has more than thirty spa resorts so you will be spoilt for choice if you choose to relax and rejuvenate in a spa for the day.
There is plenty of entertainment here but one place you must visit is Coco Bongo. Not only will you find live bands and DJs but there are impersonators and flying acrobats so definitely a night out with a difference.
Out and About
The shopping in Cancun is fantastic, there are great shopping malls, designer shops and markets so whatever you are looking for, you are bound to find it here. Remember Cancun shopping is duty free so there are some great bargains to be found.

There are also loads of bars and restaurants, so whatever your taste in food, you will find something to your liking in Cancun.
In between all that shopping and eating, you may want to take part in some of the water and land sports that are available in Cancun.
There are many historical sites to see in the area such as the cliff top ruins in Tulum, the Mayan pyramids in the middle of the jungle at Coba and the temples and Great Ball Court at Chichen Itza.
For those of you who are feeling a little adventurous, why not take a trip to one of the X- named natural theme parks, Xcaret, Xplor or Xel-Ha. The theme parks are great fun for all the family and feature activities such as snorkelling in the rivers, underground caves, sliding down zip lines, riding in amphibious vehicles, Mexican music, folk dances and much much more. The theme parks all offer a range of family friendly activities.
For another family day out, visit Wet and Wild, the Riviera Maya's only waterpark. With a selection of rides and slides, this is the perfect way to have fun and keep cool at the same time.
