With 7km of beautiful, pristine sand on offer, you are sure to find a spot to relax and enjoy the Mexican sun. The usual water sports like banana boats, jet skiing, parachuting and water skiing are all available from the beach and activities such as beach volleyball can also be found on the actual beach.
The beach is lined with luxury All Inclusive hotels and there is a large marina which is great for a wander if you want a break from the beach.
Things to Do
As well as the countless water sports on offer, there is also ample opportunity for sailing, whether it be a relaxing cruise or an actual sailing lesson. Sport fishing and deep sea fishing are also popular here. If you prefer to be on dry land then you can grab a round of golf at one of the 3 world class golf courses, have a game of tennis or even go horseriding, so whatever you enjoy doing I'm sure you will find something to your liking here.
If you are an animal lover then take a trip to Dolphin Adventure, here you can swim and play with the dolphins and even become a trainer for the day. It's not just for adults, children are able to touch dolphins in shallower water. Turtles lay their eggs on the beach from July to September so keep an eye out for them. Sticking with the animal theme, there are many whale watching tours which generally run from mid December to the end of March and you may be lucky enough to see a baby humpback whale.
A trip to Splash Water Park is great fun for all and not only will you be able to enjoy lots of waterslides and the lazy river, you will be able to see dolphin, seal and sea lion shows.
Out and About
There is a great range of top class restaurants in Nuevo Vallarta and you will find anything from traditional Mexican food to international specialities. There are plenty of bars but if you want to party into the early hours, you will not be able to do that here. Many people take a taxi into nearby Puerto Vallarta where there is a great choice of nightclubs.
There is a good range of shops here so if you are looking for some Mexican artwork or some pretty jewellery then this is the place to be. More traditional souvenir shops can be found in Puerto Vallarta.
Enjoy a dining experience with a difference and take a boat trip across Banderas Bay to the isolated cove of Las Caletas and enjoy a romantic dinner in a secluded beachside setting. After dinner you will be treated to a contemporary dance show in an outdoor amphitheatre. So for a very different kind of night time entertainment book yourself on the Rhythm of the Night tour.
There is also the Pirate Adventure which sets sail from Puerto Vallarta and includes lunch and fun and games for the whole family. There is also a pirate dinner show in the evenings.
Hidden in the heart of the virgin tropical forest of the Sierra Madre Mountains is the only treetop canopy and adventure eco-tour in the area. Explore the tops of the jungle via zip lines, suspended walkways, platforms and crazy ladders, a truly great experience but not for the fainthearted (min age 8 years). There are also lots of biking and hiking trails in the mountains.
There are so many boat tours and water based activities in Neuvo Vallarta and the surrounding area.
