Clean, good location, plenty going on and amazing beaches. Water Park is ok, quite pricey for how small it is and I would recommend taking a picnic for lunch etc as the food is very basic but expensive.

For singletons it seemed a very lovely place however for families is probably not the best, I hadn't realised when booking the hotel it was in Magaluf (my fault entirely) however I was still pleasantly surprised, especially with the beach during the day, some cigarette butts but in general a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere and no rowdy crowds. Considering it was Magaluf I was impressed but will be doing my research properly next time to go somewhere more child friendly! I don't recommend marineland, thought it was a pile of crock, western waterpark was pretty good however extortionately priced for some items, Pirates show is a must but be prepared to squash against a stranger as they really pack in the customers!

This is our third annual visit to Magaluf. We are six male friends of a certain age (over 50!) who go for a weeks holiday in June. Although based in Magaluf we always find time to visit Santa Ponsa and Palma Nova. At this time of year the weather is usually good and the resort is reasonably quiet, apart from the stag and hen parties that arrive on the weekends. (Who liven things up and are great to watch in their chosen costumes!) We enjoy going to the Beach of a daytime and make the most of the resorts bars in the night-time, even though we go all inclusive.

We go to many of the bars where the younger generation frequent and have nothing but the highest regard for the vast majority of them. We also find the younger guys very polite and respectful, unlike the manufactured images that are portrayed on sensationalised TV programms.

After Midnight we then go to The Plaza cafe and The Piano Bar for a few quality drinks before heading nearer to our hotel (HSM Atlantic Park) where we normally end the night in Manos Place and/or Dreams Pub until 4am. We seem to fall into a kebab shop most nights after leaving the last bar, just to help soak up the beer! We will be back again in June 2017 for our 4th visit, as we have made so many friends in Magaluf and have a fantastic time out there.

It has a bad reputation for students and young Brits wanting to party but it is a nice place if you can ignore the odd idiot. It's full of British and not the best place for kids.

Magaluf is ok, the beach was lovely but I feel it's over run by British bars. We preferred to take a short walk into Palmanova which was more relaxed and better choice of restaurants.

Holiday Date:22nd May 2016

Beach very good and clean with easy access but reached by very steep steps.

Holiday Date:22nd May 2016
Accommodation:Sol Katmandu Park and Resort
Room:Double Or Twin

A bit noisy at night but if you don't mind this it's good. I did think it would be for younger people but I loved it and I'm in my fifties. Although we did go in a group of family members, there was something for everyone. Lots to do, the pirate show is amazing, world class performance. The beaches are very clean with white sandy beaches gently sloping to the sea, as is Palma Beach 5 mins walk away. Lots of bars and nice places to eat. Would go again.

Holiday Date:18th May 2016
Accommodation:Sol Barbados Hotel

Magaluf is what you expect it to be, lively, good bars and restaurants, nice beach and there is somewhere for everyone to go. Youngsters will probably spend their nights on the strip and though I wouldn't touch it with my wife I would probably go with a stag party. There are plenty of bars that people of my age go to which are great fun. If you want a quiet holiday it's probably not for you though.

Holiday Date:18th May 2016
Accommodation:Sol House Guadalupe Hotel

Not a very safe place.

Holiday Date:17th May 2016

Ok

Holiday Date:17th May 2016

A lot cleaner and tidier than when I went 19 years ago.

Holiday Date:16th May 2016

Comes to life at night.

Holiday Date:16th May 2016

Magaluf is good for party people and those not wanting to be bored, wouldn't recommend for people with babies. The beach is gorgeous with plenty of places to eat.

Beaches

The 900m stretch of beach offers fine sand and clear waters with a stylish promenade running from one end of the beach to the other. There is a good selection of shops, bar and restaurants along the promenade which is ideal if you want to take a break from the sun. There are plenty of watersports available at the beach including pedal boats, banana boating, water skiing and jet skiing. The beach can become very busy and noisy, especially in the summer months.

The beaches in Palma Nova, which is within walking distance, may be more suitable for those with small children as there is not so much going on and it's a little quieter.

Things to Do

There is certainly no shortage of activities in Magaluf and with such a range available, there is something for everyone. The House of Katmandu is an upside-down house that offers a host of games, puzzles and attractions for the whole family to enjoy. During the summer months, visitors can try their hand at karting which is a great alternative to lazing about on the beach.

The family-friendly daytime show 'Pirates' is well worth a visit. The live entertainment show will see artists dancing and performing some spectacular acrobatic routines. If you prefer, you could visit the adults only version in the evening. For a more sophisticated night out why not visit the Gran Casino Theatre which offers a Vegas-style dinner and cabaret.

If you prefer to keep cool, why not visit the nearby waterparks, the Aquapark and the Western Water Park which is a great day out for any thrill seeker. Boat trips are also popular, especially the dolphin watching trip which can be taken from most of the beaches in the area and allows adults and children to get up close to the dolphins. The Nemo submarine is also great and gives you the chance to see the island's unique marine life whilst staying dry. The trip lasts for almost 2 hours and includes refreshments, fish-feeding, a dive show and nearly an hour underwater in the submarine.

Out and About

The streets around the resort are full of shops that are open late and sell a variety of goods such as jewellery, alcohol and clothing. If it's designer shops you are looking for then take a trip to Palma. There is also a flea market and Farmers market held in Palma and various other markets held in the surrounding resorts.

The restaurants cater largely for the tourist and you will find many fast-food outlets and bars serving traditional British food but you will also find some Italian, Chinese, Indian and even Spanish restaurants so you should find something that tickles your fancy. There is certainly no shortage of bars and clubs in Magaluf so if it's a quiet night you are after then you have come to the wrong place. The many clubs in Magaluf are host to many different artists performing throughout the summer months so you may have to plan your visit carefully. There are many fiestas held throughout the year, from special Easter ceremonies to Christmas events.

Nearby Attractions

There are plenty of other things to do in the area and a trip to Magaluf is not complete without visiting Palma, Majorca's capital. Palma is dominated by the beautiful Cathedral and the large, modern harbour. The Cathedral is as beautiful inside as it is outside and well worth a closer look. The little streets of Palma are full of shops, bars and cafes so there is plenty to see with many opportunities for a little refreshment on the way. The best way to see Palma is probably to take a trip on the open top bus.

Right next to Magaluf is Palma Nova which offers three 18 hole mini golf courses and there is a full size 18 hole golf course in Portal Nous. Marineland is close by in Costa d'en Blanes and great for all the family. So whatever you enjoy doing, you will find it in or around Magaluf.
