Los Abrigos is located on the south coast of Tenerife and just 10 minutes drive from the airport. This charming little fishing village offers an authentic Canarian base from which to enjoy the surrounding golf courses, surfing beaches and national parks.

Los Abrigos is ideal for lovers of seafood, having some of the best fresh fish restaurants around it's harbour and offers an authentic taste of Tenerife. The nightlife of Playa de las Americas and the beaches of the Costa Adeje are approx 15 minutes drive away and the mountain village of Vilaflor, gateway to the Teide National Park is approx 30 minutes drive.

Beaches
The resort is on the coastline, but it is rocky and there isn't really a beach here. Nevertheless, there is a choice of beaches nearby. Head towards the Montana Roja (approx 45 minutes walk along the coast) and you will come to a long stretch of natural beach or, continue into El Medano for the surfing beaches. Alternatively you can drive to the beaches of the Costa Adeje and Los Cristianos, which are very well serviced with beach bars and water sports, in approx 15 minutes.
Things to Do
Windsurfing and kitesurfing are extremely popular at El Medano (10 minute drive) and you can watch or join in as there are plenty of surfing centres in the resort.
Go on the underwater safari aboard the yellow submarine which runs from San Miguel harbour in Golf del Sur; or, if you fancy go-karting, there are circuits for all ages and abilities at the Karting Club Tenerife (both 10 minutes drive).
Golf lovers are spoilt for choice as there are 2 courses in Golf del Sur (5 minutes drive); the 27 hole Golf del Sur course and the 18 hole Amarilla Golf course. There is also an 18 hole course at Golf Las Americas and a 9 hole course at Los Palos Golf (15 minutes drive).
For horse-riding, the Pura Vida Horse Riding Centre in Golf del Sur offers day treks for confident riders and lessons for beginners of all ages and abilities. After all that walking and outdoor adventure, you relax at one of the Spa centres in Golf del Sur.
Out and About
Lining the harbour at Los Abrigos there is a string of restaurants, most of which specialise in fresh fish and seafood. Indeed, Los Abrigos is well known to be one of the best places on the island to enjoy fish dishes.
From the harbour, the seafront promenade is lined with palms and benches and backed by a grid of residential streets, all of which lead to the sea. You can continue beyond the promenade along the coastal path into El Medano. Away from the harbour there are every day amenities, such as supermarkets and banking facilities on the main street and a town plaza where the market is held on Tuesday evenings.
The San Blas shopping centre is just a short walk away, in Golf del Sur, for a wider selection of bars, restaurants, shops and evening entertainment.
Nearby Attractions
Vilaflor is a mountain village where you will find the starting point for several walking paths into the Teide National Park. It is approx 30 minutes drive away but there are also plentiful opportunities to take a sightseeing tour into the park and ride the cable car to the summit.
For fun family days out there is a Monkey Park in Los Cristianos, the Jungle Park wildlife zoo in Chayofa, Aqua Land water park in Costa Adeje and the lovely Siam Water Park in Playa de las Americas. All of these attractions are within 15 minutes drive
For boat trips and fishing trips, head for Los Cristianos harbour (14km) which is also 15 minutes drive away and has a golden sand beach backed by endless beach bars and a market on Sunday mornings.
