The location of the hotel was close to all the amenities. Rooms are standard size with a balcony. No fridge but you can get a safety deposit key for the safe in the room for a nominal price. TV in room but again you can have a remote control for a nominal price.

There is a bit of a mad scramble to get a sun lounger at 8.30 am when they open the doors to the pool area but we never had a problem getting any when we needed them.

For such a large hotel, we found the food to be varied and tasty with a chefs special every day. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and we would definitely go back again.

We have stayed at the Ambassador Playa for over 10 years. We have a short break either 4 or 5 nights same time each year in June. We were allocated rooms 104 and 105 which were supposed to have a pool view, if you could see around the very tall trees maybe you could. The view from the rooms themselves were dreadful, we were situated overlooking a tin roof from a derelict building I believe is there. Mosquitoes were everywhere even the plug-ins did not work. The stench from the drains in these 2 rooms was the worst ever. I have no idea if this was related to being on floor 1. It became noticeable 2 days into our holiday and we decided reporting and trying to get a room change would take up too much time of our holidays so we decided to put up with it. I did report the stench at check out to reception who said it was probably the plug in the bath needing cleaning. Makes me ask why the maid didn't report it then?

The restaurant I couldn't fault or the staff either - well done guys.

The hotel was very clean and rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels, the staff were very pleasant and the food was delicious. I am not a great eater and very fussy but the choice was phenomenal. We were right above the Explorers Bar so quite noisy but as I am a Benidorm veteran this does not bother me. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will most definitely be back.

Normally I would rate this hotel 5 star but it has dropped one star as we were a bit disappointed about noise from young groups of men in the hotel which have never been allowed before, thinking it was funny coming in at 4 in the morning and waking everybody up with shouting, banging of doors and swearing.

Pillows let it down, food very good, tasty and hot. Bedrooms fine clean and everything works. Pool area must be a bit of a nightmare in summer, February bad enough. People keep the best area for friends and family, think you need to get up early.
