The beaches are lovely and there are lots of places to eat. Only downsides is that there are very few bars that offer any form of nightlife. The Imperial bar used to offer a rota of singing and entertainment that was appreciated by a wide circle of customers. The cost of sunbeds and parasols on the beaches is a very expensive addition to holiday costs if you are a family with teenage children.

The town is lovely with lots of shops and bars and very few, if any, English bars/cafes etc. The scenery is great with the hills and mountains in the background. Lots of hotels and apartments.
Clean beach with lots of sunbeds and umbrellas although we thought they were quite expensive at 13 Euros per day.

A very easy holiday - perfect to relax as everything is to hand. We hired kayaks for a bit of adventure, but mostly swam in the sea, ate ice creams and read novels. We went as far as Alcudia and Formentor but with just a week and needing a break, Puerto Pollensa had everything needed. The children decided to buy lots of toys for the beach - snorkels, lilos, water guns instead of going to a water park and had just as much fun.

We had a good time, everything is convenient, bus stop within yards of our hotel (Pollentia) and has a very good service. Promenade is clean and well maintained, shops, bars and restaurants are plentiful, of a good standard and within walking distance. We loved the resort.

Hotel situated midway between Alcudia and Port de Pollentia, with buses running between the two every 15 minutes or so. There is a rocky beach opposite the hotel although a 5-10 walk is required before any sand is encountered. Perfect for a relaxing holiday in the resort, or as a base to get out and about.

It was our first time in Majorca and we were so pleased we decided on Puerto de Pollensa. It is such a lovely clean resort with beautiful beaches and lots of restaurants and a weekly market. We will be going back as we enjoyed it so much.

Puerto Pollensa is a beautiful, friendly, resort. Much quieter than many in Majorca. However being quiet doesn't mean that it doesn't have lots of restaurants and bars, many of which are exceptional. Long sandy beach, lovely walks along the beach and Pine Walk, which is a tree lined walk next to the sea. Pollensa town, a short bus ride away for 3 euros return is well worth a visit. The only reason I didn't select awesome is that that's not a word that Puerto Pollensa would want to be recognised as. This is laid back loveliness without trying to be something that it's not. It's also not that big so if you are looking for nightclubs or theme parks or theme bars it's not for you. It is simply a lovely place to spend a week or so, relaxing by the pool, on the beach, or walking through the town or surrounding areas. If that's what you want then it might be awesome for you!

The beach

There are two beaches in Puerto de Pollensa one either side of the marina, Albercutx beach is narrow and runs for 2 km in front of the Pine Walk and the Pollensa beach starts at the south of the marina and stretches for some 4 km.

Both beaches are sandy with calm clear water, and offer good facilities with sun-loungers and umbrellas to hire, plenty of refreshment options close by and a wide variety of watersport activities including banana rides, jet-ski, pedal boats and kite surfing.

Things to do

Much of the entertainment is centred by the beach where a variety of watersports are available plus boat trips along the coastline. Puerto Pollensa is also home to Fantasy World, ideal for families with younger children looking for a respite from the sun in this air-conditioned indoor play centre with café.

Nature lovers and bird spotters will enjoy the S'Albufereta Natural Reserve in Pollensa Bay, this large area consists of marsh, lakes, riverside woodland and coastal ecosystems, and is packed with wildlife and many species of bird.

Out and about

Like many of Majorca's popular resorts Puerto de Pollensa was once a fishing village, and retaining its nautical origins now has a modern marina filled with yachts, around which a number of shopping options can be found and it%u2019s also the location of the weekly market which takes place every Wednesday.

Along the resorts promenade to the south of the marina and the Pine Walk which runs to the north offer a number of outdoor bars and restaurants, in fact throughout the resort you'll be spoilt for choice with the vast number of wining and dining options available. The resort offers a vibrant nightlife with plenty of lively bars and a couple of discos.

Nearby attractions

The old town of Pollensa is just 8 km inland from the port; one of the main reasons to visit this small and charming town is for the interesting historical buildings and the famous 365 Calvario Steps which lead to a hillside chapel, well worth the climb for the fantastic views.

The neighbouring resort of Alcudia offers plenty of attractions, families will love the Hidropark which offers pools, waterslides, mini-golf and much more, there is also the Laberinth Maze and a large karting track. Alcudia is also a city of historical interest with its Roman walls, a Roman theatre, a small Roman church and even a 19th century bull-ring.
