Puerta Pollensa has the most beautiful sandy safe beach which is never crowded. There are also play areas with swings and slides etc. along the beach for young children to play. We have been going to this resort for many years and never get tired of it. There is an abundance of restaurants which cater for all tastes. We discovered a fabulous restaurant called Zarzales which I would highly recommend. Tolos restaurant is lovely for lunch and watching the world go by with a chilled glass of wine and a plate of grilled sardines. There are numerous bars both trendy and traditional. It mainly caters for families with young children and couples. The local transport is excellent and Alcudia Old Town is only a short bus ride away with lots of traditional tapas bars, cobbled streets and an abundance of shops to spend an afternoon away from the beach. The Pine Walks area of Puerta Pollensa is lovely and vibrant in the evening with Street Artists and musicians which adds to the atmosphere when dining on one of the many restaurant terraces.

Love the place, very very clean everywhere, loads of eating places and the bus service was non stop. We went when it was end of season so it was lovely and quiet, lots of nice walks.

We really enjoy Puerto Pollensa as it is relatively quiet in October but still has a buzz. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Our favourite restaurant is Tribeca which is run by an English couple and serves delicious food at fair prices.

Montelin Apartments are situated three roads back from the beach. The beach is a long flat stretch of sand with plenty of sun beds and sunshades. Water is usually calm. Beach has promenade in front of it with seats built into the low wall most of the way along. The town has lots of good quality restaurants and shops but not known for lively night life.

Puerto Pollenca is a little gem of a place, in fact it is a little piece of heaven here. It truly captures your heart, the locals are very friendly and welcoming. Great resort for families. There is no loud pubs or clubs here, very respectable, clean and safe resort. Beaches are great and very safe, lots of water activities, public transport links are great and reasonably priced, local markets on and lots of shops and restaurants to cater for everyone's needs.

There's a wide choice in bars and restaurants. I could go to lots of shops. The people out there are friendly. I loved the beach which overlooked the boats and mountains. It's a nice place and would definitely go back.

The beach

There are two beaches in Puerto de Pollensa one either side of the marina, Albercutx beach is narrow and runs for 2 km in front of the Pine Walk and the Pollensa beach starts at the south of the marina and stretches for some 4 km.

Both beaches are sandy with calm clear water, and offer good facilities with sun-loungers and umbrellas to hire, plenty of refreshment options close by and a wide variety of watersport activities including banana rides, jet-ski, pedal boats and kite surfing.

Things to do

Much of the entertainment is centred by the beach where a variety of watersports are available plus boat trips along the coastline. Puerto Pollensa is also home to Fantasy World, ideal for families with younger children looking for a respite from the sun in this air-conditioned indoor play centre with café.

Nature lovers and bird spotters will enjoy the S'Albufereta Natural Reserve in Pollensa Bay, this large area consists of marsh, lakes, riverside woodland and coastal ecosystems, and is packed with wildlife and many species of bird.

Out and about

Like many of Majorca's popular resorts Puerto de Pollensa was once a fishing village, and retaining its nautical origins now has a modern marina filled with yachts, around which a number of shopping options can be found and it%u2019s also the location of the weekly market which takes place every Wednesday.

Along the resorts promenade to the south of the marina and the Pine Walk which runs to the north offer a number of outdoor bars and restaurants, in fact throughout the resort you'll be spoilt for choice with the vast number of wining and dining options available. The resort offers a vibrant nightlife with plenty of lively bars and a couple of discos.

Nearby attractions

The old town of Pollensa is just 8 km inland from the port; one of the main reasons to visit this small and charming town is for the interesting historical buildings and the famous 365 Calvario Steps which lead to a hillside chapel, well worth the climb for the fantastic views.

The neighbouring resort of Alcudia offers plenty of attractions, families will love the Hidropark which offers pools, waterslides, mini-golf and much more, there is also the Laberinth Maze and a large karting track. Alcudia is also a city of historical interest with its Roman walls, a Roman theatre, a small Roman church and even a 19th century bull-ring.
