Zante Town, Zante, Greece
Zante Town is the largest resort on the island and home to almost one quarter of the island’s population. The resort is a little quieter than many of the resorts on the island so it is perfect for those who want to take it easy.
Zante Town
If it is local culture you are interested in then Zante Town is the place to be. There is so much to learn and there is easy access to neighbouring resorts so plenty to do right on your doorstep.

Very cosmopolitan, great bars and restaurants, not great for beach but easy access to lovely ones just a short bus ride away.

Pleasant enough, lovely town square, very busy with annoying constant whine of scooters etc, but as with many Greek islands these days, prices have shot up. Would certainly advise a visit to Bohali Castle if only for the stunning views of the whole town and harbour. The castle visit costs 4E but information is limited apart from a few well worn plaques attached to some of the ruins. The town should utilise this attraction more because nobody we spoke to did not enjoy their visit, apart from the lack of information.

Some lovely shopping and eating places. Lively but not rowdy! Really pleasant to walk around on the evening. Great to see local families enjoying the square in the evenings too.

Beaches
There are no beaches to speak of in Zante Town, there are places to swim but no beach to spend hours relaxing on. The beachfront, known as Krioneri Beach can be difficult to enter due to all the pebbles and rocks so swimming shoes are advised.
Out and About
Although there are several nightclubs here, there are also plenty of restaurants and bars which are great for relaxing and watching the world go by. There are lots of lovely little shops to wander round or if you fancy something with a little more culture you can visit one of the many museums on offer.

The area around Zante Town is beautiful and many people enjoy visiting the unspoiled lagoon of Limnionas for a day on the beach or even some diving. There are other beautiful beaches to be found nearby and the 15th century Byzantine Anafonitria Monastery is only 25km away.
Quick Facts
Zante Town is just 5km from the popular resort of Tsilivi which has some wonderful beaches, great nightlife and plenty to do for all the family.
