Kalamaki, Zante, Greece
Situated 5 kilometres from Laganas, Kalamaki is a quiet resort well known for the Loggerhead Turtles nesting here. There is a beautiful beach in the resort but you will not find any watersports here due to the turtles.
The sandy beach is part of the Laganas bay and is ideal for children due to the slow shelving beach into the shallow water. Part of the beach is restricted due to the turtles which can be found in this area.
Out and About
The relaxed and laid back atmosphere is apparent in this resort and whilst there is a selection of restaurants and bars, the nightlife is low key. The resort is close to Laganas, Zante Town and Argassi for those looking for nightly entertainment and a livelier atmosphere.
There are many interesting excursions available to visitors including Olympia (the birthplace of the modern Olympic games and flame), Skinari (where the Blue Caves are located), the Monastery of St George and the Shipwreck at Smugglers Cove.
