I do not consider the hotel to be suitable for non Russian speaking guests.

The hotel was very welcoming but we did have some problems as the food was cold a lot of the time. Our toilet in our room hadn't been cleaned properly and we had to clean it ourself as the maid didn't clean it on any of her visits. We were sad to be one of the only English couples there as a lot of the reviews we read said there were English. We couldn't enjoy the entertainment as we didn't know what was going on as there was no English translation for us. The staff were very friendly. The fridge in the room turned of when the electric in the room went of so the water wouldn't stay cool. The location wasn't too bad, was a long walk into town and I didn't like the way the taxi service works, being dropped off in a shop and having a set time to have to go back! Around the pool was ok, just a shame that there are so many wasps, as I am very scared of them I couldn't really relax as I was scared of them landing on me. All in all I did enjoy the holiday but I won't be returning to this hotel again. Thanks.

The first place to start is to say that this is definitely not a four star hotel. I have stayed in different parts of Turkey and I will definitely not be returning to this part again.

The transfer time is good and it is not far from the airport, the weather was hot, you are able to get sunbeds around the pool, you can get a bus to the beach and there is a section for Maya Melissa guests. You do not have to pay for this and food and drink is included in the all inclusive.

As stated above, the hotel was not a four star standard, and I would even go as far as saying that I would not classify this hotel as worth three stars! Little things like the appearance of the hotel make a big difference and many botch jobs were made. The air-conditioning in the room did not feel cool, and there was no way of keeping the electricity on when you left the room and removed the key card that meant that items in the fridge did not stay cold. There were many wasps around the hotel, which affected relaxing by the pool. To begin with, there are no tea/coffee facilities in the hotel room, the bed was rock hard and uncomfortable, and any information provided is not in English. For example, the information sheet explaining restaurant times was not in English and there was only one TV channel in English (I know you do not go on holiday to watch TV but I like listening to something before going to sleep and you need something to drown out the thudding base music coming from the night bar!). Cocktails were not included within the all-inclusive package and I found it difficult to find something I enjoyed to drink and it soon became a chore. The beer was very gassy, the wine did not taste nice and the portions of spirits were very strong, to the point where you cannot even drink it. Even the soft drinks were strong and there was no fresh juice available.

Throughout the hotel there are various health and safety concerns (plug sockets exposed, doors and windows unable to lock, balcony railings poorly built etc). One evening the police were at the hotel, due to the language barrier we are unsure of what happened or why they were there. This clearly did not make us feel safe. In both our hotel room and our friend's room, the window did not have a handle and therefore could not be locked. This meant that the window would blow open and it would not be difficult for someone to climb up and enter the room. We purchased the use of a safety deposit box which cost £27 for the two weeks, this was a necessary after realising the poor safety agenda of this hotel.

The maid service was on a daily basis and sheets and towels were changed regularly. On one occasion we weren't provided with towels. The maids leave two bottles of small water each day in the room, although this is not left in the fridge. The maid service usually reached our room around 4pm each day, however there was one morning where she walked in around 9am which was obviously a shock! From this point on we left the do not disturb sign on the door until we left for breakfast. This resolved any future problems.

We were one of the only English couples at the hotel, and no staff spoke English. Some members of staff did try to make an effort, however the language barrier was apparent and a problem. This appeared to be the same across the resort area as when walking around the shops/market people assume you are Dutch, German or Russian and when they realise you are English they do not bother talking to you. Some people may see this as positive, others not so much. I for one found it disappointing, I enjoy exploring different cultures however, this was something that was just not possible. People will push in front of you at the bar or when queuing for food, and people presented as rude and having no manners. On the occasion when we were able to speak to another English couple, they were of the same opinion and agreed that they would never return to this hotel or area.

Moving on with the food, this was also very disappointing and we ended up eating out for the majority of the time, spending more money. Food was not labelled so it was impossible to know what you are eating (not good for allergies or if you generally want to know what it is), the food was often cold and inedible. We made many trips to the supermarket to buy snacks and drinks that you could actually digest and drink. I am by no means a fussy eater, but I did find it difficult to enjoy the food. On one occasion, the chicken was bright pink and not cooked properly but luckily, I realised before eating but this demonstrates the lack of good quality food available at this hotel. Ice cream is not included, not even the small basic pots that you find on most all-inclusive holidays. The beer on tap was Tuborg (a beer brewed in Denmark) instead of the usual Effes that you would find in Turkey. The food and drink are clearly catered for people from Germany, Russia, and Netherlands etc.

In terms of the entertainment, the animation team does their best, however know limited English. The entertainment shows on in the evening in the amphitheatre were not in English, which therefore made it hard to join in or even understand what was going on.
