We have stayed in the Malibu Beach Hotel before but we have noticed that it has declined in standard since our last visit. The carpet on the stairs was badly stained, the small kiddies pool was dirty with green fungus and the circulating pump to clean the water was not on. In our room some of the lights did not work in the bathroom, the emergency phone was kept in its holder with a plastic bag tied around the handset and the holder, there was what looked like a punch mark on the bathroom door.

On the plus side the staff again were great, friendly and very helpful, the guys at the bar worked their socks off to make our stay enjoyable.

Malibu beach hotel 4 star rooms were perfect, felt like I was in heaven. Cleanliness good as well the location was brilliant, walked out front door straight onto beach. Had everything you needed, fridge, safe and air con. Would recommended Malibu beach hotel to family and friends.

Had a great stay at this hotel. The rooms are lovely, very modern and clean. We didn't have to pay for air conditioning or a safe like you do at many other hotels which was a bonus. Never had a problem getting a sunbed at the pool or on the beach. The pool area was in the shade a lot of the day so we moved to the comfy double sunbeds on the beach. It is in the perfect location (right on the beach with lots of shops/restaurants). Can't wait to return to this hotel.

Wasn't good. The staff didn't speak to you, air con was broke all week kept asking them to fix it but they never did. The pool never got cleaned, we stayed away from it all day just going back to get changed. We were then told that there was a big dispute going on with the owner and the staff as it had just been bought out. Wouldn't go back to this hotel.

We were disappointed to only have had 6 nights B&B when we paid for 7 nights but we should have read the itinerary more closely. The hotel states daily cleaning and towels changed 3 times per week but we did not get clean sheets all week and the cleaner came once with towels and just swept the floor but was only in the room a few minutes. Food was boring, no cereals or yogurts just cheese and eggs and more and more cheese. Our room was very nice with modern fittings and a good shower but the balcony was so small only 1 person at a time could sit out there and we could see straight into the next hotels rooms which was not at all private so we chose not to use the balcony and kept the curtains closed. Staff however were very friendly and keen to help with anything but the hotel is not suitable for young children as no suitable food for them or highchairs etc.

All staff were fab apart from within reception area. Rooms and all areas were very clean and tidy. Pool and bar area fabulous. Little choice of food from evening buffet and no labels identifying what food was.

Rooms were fantastic, balcony a little small but did the job. Staff were very friendly especially MC who was a credit to the hotel.

The hotel was lovely. The maids worked very hard. It is well placed and clean. The only thing that let it down was the food. There was no variety and it was cold, we suggested a microwave could be installed next to the toaster as did other guests but this fell on deaf ears. We would suggest anyone thinking of coming to this hotel book on a B and B basis.

Fantastic hotel. Loved it here. Cleaned daily, room was spotless, very modern and would recommend. We had a lovely sea view which was brilliant. Staff were friendly, courteous and polite. I'd definitely go back and stay here again. Used the safe which was easy to operate and kept our money safe. Lovely continental breakfast which we enjoyed.

Stunning location right on the beach. Sea view room with a balcony. Room had good facilities inc flat screen tv, safe, fridge hair dryer and large rain shower.

Fantastic hotel right on beach front. Very clean and modern, Jimmy and his team were great, nothing was too much trouble, well done. Food good, reasonable price drinks, the same going back again next year. Would recommend.

Fab hotel, staff great, view from room was the best. Location good all round. Safe and air con free which makes a lot of difference, family very helpful. Maid was very good even laid flowers on bed a few times. Would stay again.

Clean and tidy - very nice since the refurbishment but breakfast wasn't great. Beach staff were round you very regularly which some people may like but I wasn't a fan. The staff on the beach front also seemed to have a system for working the beach beds which was to benefit people who were not staying at the hotel.
