We stayed in the doubletree by Hilton in August 2014. The hotel itself is situated just above the resort of Golden Sands. It has connecting stairway to the bars and restaurants leading in to whole Golden Sands resort. The walk to the beach is 10 mins and very simple. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach if you want to save your legs! There is a choice of 2 pools with one attached to the Helios spa resort. This pool has loud music and most of the entertainment takes place here. It also has 2 slides for the children to use. The other pool is much quieter and contains double bed sun loungers on a sanded part of the terrace. Both pools are very clean and have a pool bar. Only staying for bed and breakfast we felt the food available at breakfast was of a good quality with the usual meats and egg and cereal, ate all on offer as well as omelettes made to request and pancakes made fresh. The rooms are large and carpeted. We had a leak however in our first room after a thunderstorm, this was quickly rectified however and upon inspection of the leaking ceiling we were moved to a sea view room at no extra charge. Problem solved quickly and smoothly! The staff vary in their happiness but the animation team, receptionists and most bar men are typically friendly. The manager is often seen walking the hotel, talking to guests which is rarely seen at large hotels such as this! In conclusion this hotel is most certainly worth a stay especially on bed and breakfast basis! The resort is cheap enough to eat and most certainly drink to not have to stay all inclusive. Enjoy your stay!
