Out and About

There is something for everyone on this floating island of paradise with numerous sandy beaches, mountain villages preserving the traditional Greek way of life, beautiful natural scenery, watersports and good quality restaurants, bars and nightclubs to more than cater for all your entertainment needs.

Zante is full of great entertainment venues such as Water Village which is full of slides and pools for the whole family to enjoy. The laser centre in Tsilivi offers a large playground, bouncy castles and supervised games. Another popular family day out is a trip to Smugglers cove to see the 'shipwreck beach' which can only be accessed by boat.

Zante offers a whole host of historic and cultural sights, including a number of churches and the museum which is dedicated to Dionysios Solomos, a 19th century poet from the island.

Boat trips are popular here and with loads of bays, coves and peninsulas it can be a great way to explore. There are also some great opportunities for those who enjoy outdoor activities such as rambling, coving or exploring the rolling hills covered in olive groves and pine trees or take advantage of the wide range of watersports that are available.

Zante is home to the Loggerhead Turtle, which are very well conserved and respected on the island. During the summer months holidaymakers can visit Laganas and Kalamaki and take a glass-bottomed boat trip to view the turtles or even take a swim with them.

For those who want to party, a trip to Laganas is a must. Full of neon-lit pubs, clubs and bars, Laganas is one of Greece's top 4 party resorts.

So for days and nights full of fun and adventure, Zante is the place to be.

Out for Lunch!

Zante offers you a variety of cuisines to try out including Chinese, International, Mediterranean, Italian and Greek. The cuisine is based on a Mediterranean diet using the best home grown ingredients as well as olive oil. The best way to enjoy traditional cuisine in Zante is by having a meze, a selection of starters and appetizers of all kinds both hot and cold.

Fast food restaurants are springing up all over the island where a bargain meal can be had. You can dine in luxury at one of the many restaurants or go for a more traditional meal in one of the local tavernas. A common dish eaten in Zante is the Souvlaki or Gyros, usually made up of lamb, beef or pork served in a pita bread with salad.
