Ibiza Town

Ibiza Town, Ibiza, Spain

A beautiful capital for a spectacular island. Though the transfer time from the airport to resort is short, approximately 15 to 30 minutes, the views from the old walled city are breathtaking.

Ibiza Town

Lively, entertaining, exciting and most definitely cosmopolitan, Ibiza town lives up to its reputation as 'a stunning introduction to the Pandora's box that is known as Ibiza'. Try and take a boat ride if you can around the harbour of Ibiza Town, it will be an unforgettably experience. The only downside to this fairytale is its proximity to the airport. Expect to experience some aircraft noise, but do not let this minor blip put you off exploring the town and its streets.

Beaches

Whilst there are no beaches in Ibiza Town itself the string of beaches at Figueretas practically line it's southern border. Figueretas beach has a good offering of water sports and is backed by a promenade. Lying behind the harbour to the north of Ibiza Town you will find the beach at Talamanca.

Just 5km south, the long sands of Playa d'en Bossa are easily accessible by road, ferry or water taxi and again, there are plenty of water-sports available.

Things to Do

Perched high above the harbour, the fortified historic quarter of Dalt Vila is a UNESCO World Heritage site and centuries away from the glamorous yachts that lie below. Stroll around the timeless cobbled narrow streets lined with historic homes and buildings, browse the art galleries and shops full of unusual gifts and artisan products. The bastions offer amazing views and have great historic interest and hidden tunnels; one houses archaeological remains and another is the venue for various outdoor concerts.

There are a number of cultural attractions in the Dalt Vila including the 18th century Gothic style Cathedral which has history dating back to the 12th century, the Santo Domingo church, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Puget Museum, the Museum of Archaeology and the Medina Yabisa Interpretation Centre.

For dining, relaxing, people watching and soaking up the atmosphere, sit outside on of the restaurants in the town squares at the Plaza de la Vila and the Plaza de sa Carrosa.

Out and About

By day or night, the Marina Botafoch and the harbour are perfect for strolling alongside the waters edge admiring the magnificient super yachts and stopping for a coffee or a meal in one of the many bars or restaurants.

Nightlife venues range from pumping clubs to chill-out bars, romantic meals by the harbour or in the Dalt Vita. The streets and squares are quite colourful with evening street performers and market stalls and there is always a vibrant along the Calle de la Virgen.

Nearby Attractions

For fun activities there is a water park near Playa den Bossa, the AguaMar which has a number of thrill slides, pools and relaxation areas. There are also go-karting tracks at San Antonio and Santa Eulalia.
