Hotel was good, reception staff excellent, helpful as always, cleaners, excellent also, although there was no entertainment whatsoever day or evening. I feel that this let the hotel down this year. Poor selection of drinks at bar.

We stayed here last year and had such a nice time we decided to return. It is a small hotel and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels replaced every day. It is quiet and relaxing but you can go into Marmaris centre which is only a few minutes bus ride which stops right outside the hotel and run every 15 minutes. We plan to return next year.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, rooms cleaned daily, towels changed daily, beds changed every two days. Good choice of food at breakfast, food looked good for lunch and dinner. Hotel bus free of charge to Marmaris, public bus passed the front of the hotel and only cost 50p. Turkish bath and beauty facilities are good and reasonably priced at the hotel.

Had requested a double room and they put us in a twin even though booking was for a double or twin. We were accommodated in a double. Then had to clarify that we were all inclusive. Hotel advertised as all inclusive but is not. Bar does not open until 10am and closes at 11pm. Each time you ordered a drink you had to give your room number, very frustrating. Lifts out of order which is no good for anyone with mobility problems. Even when working (not often) no more than two at a time. Cleanliness - Rooms kept very clean and towels changed when required. Did not appreciate seeing stained mattresses at the side of the lifts on every floor. Would also have been good to know that all but the bottom floor were smoking as would have requested non-smoking. Pools - One main one, sun loungers out daily but tended to find the usual with towels being on before the sun even out. Could hire beach towels for 2 TL a day. Facilities - Safe hire £15 for the week and television £10 for week but gave access to movies and sky sports so well worth it. Mini bar stocked with small range of juices and couple of beers. Restocked when required by housekeeper and invoice for goods used left. Clear leaflet explaining the costs of mini-bar. Shuttle bus to private beach daily at 9.50am and collection at 1pm or 5pm. Went twice and bus always packed and ended up sitting on floor. Sunbeds based in front of Yunus hotel and restaurant. 10% discount given for food and drinks if staying at Faros hotel. Food and service was great and did not mind paying extra but again all inclusive and should not have needed to. Option to have food and drinks in restaurant or served to you on the beach. Access to hotel facilities such as toilets. Spa on site and could access sauna from 5-7pm each evening. Small gym available for use as well. Hairdressers on site and small shop which never opened. Darts board and pool table which were not often used. Food - Served outdoors around the pool of an evening. Not a wide choice but enough to have something at every meal. Breakfasts very poor choice. Constantly ran out of teabags. Needed to request cutlery at most meal times and then wait till someone found some. If you did not arrive for dinner until 8pm often cold and no microwave to heat food. Found staff paid more attention to paying guest rather than all inclusive guests in general. Meal times 7.30am - 10am breakfast, lunchtime 12.30 - 2pm and evening meal 7.30am - 9pm. No options for snacks between meals which would be expected as part of all inclusive. Fruit juices at a premium again not unusual.
Entertainment - Fairly good of an evening with something on every night except a Sunday. Entertainment team lost during the day and especially when raining as did not know what to do to get guests involved. Fairly young entertainment team as well. Music could be loud at times. Staff polite and eager to please although lots of language problems especially when requesting a coffee with milk (white coffee served with extra milk in jug, black coffee etc). Rep from Meeting point travel very helpful and even rang to check pick up times for us as unable to get mobile reception despite setting everything up before we left. Hotel manageress came across as rude particularly when queried 33 tl phone bill for 5 minute call to mobile provider. Other guests - Some very loud and rude. For example when sitting on floor on mini-bus to get to beach, one other guest did not even wait for my wife to get up and stood over her to get out. School trip organised for one night which resulted in lack of sleep for guests although understandably all young at one time. Location - Based in residential part of Marmaris. Transfer from airport took 1 hour and 30 minutes and this was supposed to be the speedy transfer. Properties next door being done up and lot of noise with machinery etc and the workers do not have a day off. Got used to it after a couple of days and was droned out by the music played by entertainments team. Family friendly - Apart from a small pool for kids nothing else available to keep them entertained and entertainment team seemed more able to encourage adult guests than children to join in.

Rooms were very clean. Clean towels every day - clean sheets every few days. We recommend to hire the safe in the wardrobe to keep money/passports safe. There is a small fridge minibar in the room, although we didn't use. We did have problems with our (free) air con, it couldn't be fixed so we had to change rooms. Tip:Rooms overlooking the pool have the advantage of being able to watch the entertainment on your balcony, but tend to be noisy - rooms the other side overlooking the mountain are quieter. The hotel staff are lovely, friendly and cannot do enough for you, especially on the reception. If you order drinks with the fabulous evening meal, you may find it better, like us, to pay at the time of ordering rather than have a room tab to settle at the end of the holiday during check out. The hotel pool is very clean - but deep, I am 5ft 4in and my big toe only just touched the bottom in the 'shallow' end. (something to bear in mind if you dislike deep water or have young children). Having said that, children were still enjoying the pool, supervised, on an inflatable crocodile or fire engine! A few children and adults were using a 'noodle' to float too. Location is not too far out of town, but a minibus (blue, No:4) arrives at the hotel approx. every 10 minutes to go to town/harbour. Cheap to travel, run up until midnight. Alternatively, a taxi will cost around £6-7. The hotel also run a complimentary bus several times a day to town and to their beach. Details of this are given when you check in. Tip:Buy a big 5 litre bottle of water from the fridge in reception (cost 3 lira - £1) - keep in your room then decanter into small bottles to take out with you. The food at this hotel is superb - good variety at breakfast, including a fresh omelette, if requested. Evening meal cannot be missed! Again, good selection of starters and main meal served outside beside the pool. Everything very clean and arranged beautifully, with clean white tablecloths! Thank you Sunshine holidays - I think we will return here - and we would certainly use this company again - hassle free, no problems.

A lovely hotel made all the better by friendly, attentive and efficient staff. Food is very good, dining around the pool on an evening. The rooms are okay but small for three single beds.

Staff very friendly and hard working. Breakfast just ok, lunch not many choices and dinner very good. Entertainment at the hotel very poor, rooms ok and cleaned every day. I would rate it as 3 star hotel rather 4 star hotel.

The staff in the hotel were great but the facilities were old and outdated. For example the seating areas needed upgrading. The chairs in the restaurant were dirty. The breakfast food variety was very poor and evening meal was not a buffet as the hotel was quiet. We got a set menu of 2 choices this is not what we had paid for. On one occasion it was so poor my husband had to go to Mcdonalds to get us food as we were starving. If we got there and paid hotel tax why did we have to pay 100 dirhams for using the warm pool. The room we were given had rust in the bath. It was very unpleasant to look at. I would never go back to this hotel. The two stars given are for the staff not hotel.

This hotel was very clean, food was great staff, would do anything to help. The only downfall is this hotel is not set up for all inclusive and it became a nightmare. If you are taking children beware no snacks during the day unless you put your hand in your pocket. Keep an eye on your room bill as the odd mistake seems to be added to your bill and its up to you to prove you never had them. Full board or half board would be a delight but avoid all inclusive. Be careful what you order to drink as a lot of drinks are not included and you get a nasty surprise of a bill. Overall great hotel but not for all inclusive.

We really enjoyed our stay at Grand Faros it was clean well looked after and the staff were great with our little boy. The food was quite good actually and I'm fussy I must say I enjoyed every evening meal, not so much the breakfast though.

My only gripe would be the size of rooms a little on the small side and only a shower, no bath.

Friendly staff, nice hotel, good food and good location. Cheap to get the bus to Marmaris or the free hotel bus; driver very courteous. Had a Turkish bath and massage - excellent, made us feel very comfortable. Didn't want to come home.

The stay at the Gran Faros was not our first. The price we paid in truth is two star but we received a much higher standard. For what you pay, the stay can only be described as very good value for money. If you want Five Star accommodation, food and facilities then pay for it. If you want a great bargain then stay at the Gran Faros.

Typical 3 star holiday hotel. A little out of the way from the centre. No problem with staff but had problems with other holiday makers (British) who thought they were the only ones on holiday. Staff moved us to another room without any fuss. Mostly Dutch clients who were very nice and polite.
