I liked Cala Llonga. Although it was the end of the season and quite a few shops, supermarkets and bars had closed, we still managed to shop and spend. Beach is ideal and swam every day.

Cala Llonga is a small resort, just right for families. Go to flippers and El Canteena too, eat nice food at reasonable prices. Beach is nice and clean, little park close too shops and beach.

Came here 6 years ago. Nice and quiet, great beach. Used the water taxi to get to Ibiza town (approx 12 euros return) and to Es Cana (approx 17 euros return). It had not changed much in the 6 years which was good to see.

We have been going to Cala Llonga for about 30 years now, sometimes twice a year so we think it is good (obviously). SOS Restaurant is great, Ramon and his family are most accommodating and again nothing is too much trouble. Bar Maddison and good old Pepe are wonderful. We feel we cannot say any more to praise Cala Llonga.

Lovely location, it's what we wanted. Fairly quiet but enough shops, restaurants and bars for us travelling as a family of five.

Plenty of restaurants to choose from nearby, most of a good quality. Very few steps down to the beach. Very safe for children. Lovely rocky areas for snorkelling. Absolutely stunning view of the beach and surrounding area.

The hotel was a 10 minute stroll into Cala Llonga and the beach which made a nice walk in the evening and there are lots of bars, restaurants and cafes there along with a lovely clean beach which had a great children's play area. There was a regular ferry service from the beach to other parts of the island also there was an excellent bus service into Ibiza Town or Santa Eulalia. Cala Llonga is quite a small resort but there were enough shops and supermarkets to buy groceries and presents and the souvenirs were the same but cheaper than those for sale in the famous Hippy Market in Es Cana.

Its a small friendly resort with some lovely restaurants. There is just enough there to do, without it being too big. It has a lovely beach which is great for families.

Lovely resort, best beach for miles. Ideal for families, the water is shallow for at least 100 yards and is supervised by a life guard.

Cala Llonga is a very small resort, there is pretty much nothing to do here during the evenings, even though we were looking for a quiet holiday, we still would have liked some entertainment of some sort. This is a resort for total relaxation, ideal for those who like nothing more than lying on the beach during the day and early nights. There is a ferry service to other resorts during the days and also across to Formentera, which we made the most of.

Beaches

Located on the south-east coast, Cala Llonga lays behind a deep and sheltered bay which is framed by pine clad hills and has a family friendly wide sandy beach. The beach is approx 190 metres long and 100 metres wide and it's light golden sands slope gently into the clear sea.

The beach has plenty of sun loungers and the waters are safe for swimming and great for snorkelling. There is a diving centre in the resort and other watersports available include pedalos, parasailing, windsurfing and water-skiing.

Things to Do

Stroll along the lane and through the pine trees to the nearby, quieter little beach of Sol d'en Serra (approx 1km) and the charming Amante Beach Club which overlooks the bay.

There are mini amusements for young children and, at the end of the beach there is also a playground, with a few benches where you can watch your children play, under the welcome shade of the pine trees.

Ibiza Golf Club lies just behind the resort and is open to non-members. It features an 18 hole course, a 9 hole course and a practice range.

Take the morning ferry from the quay and spend the day on the neighbouring island of Formentera. The crossing takes about an hour and ferries operate from May to October.

Out and About

There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in Cala Llonga, most of which are on the road behind the beach. Everyday shopping is available in the resort too, such as supermarkets and chemists.

Cala Llonga is a family friendly resort and nightlife is relatively low key, although there are plenty of bars to choose from and seasonal entertainment, such as live music and shows at the hotels. For livelier nightlife head for Ibiza Town or across the island to San Antonio.

Nearby Attractions

For boutique clothing and a wider choice of shops you might want to pop into Santa Eulalia (5km) or Ibiza Town (approx 10km). Both towns are worth exploring and can easily be reached by bus, taxi or ferry.

The ever popular market at Es Cana is held on Wednesdays and is approx 10km away.
