Ben T. Davis Beach is the closest beach to downtown Tampa and is a narrow stretch of shoreline set beside the Courtney Campbell Causeway. The beach has fine white sands and warm calm water, it features boat ramps and picnic shelters, and there is a restaurant at the end of the beach.
Davis Island Beach is located at the very end of Davis Island beside the Davis Island Yacht Club and Davis Island Seaplane Basin. There's a small beach area and a larger off-leash area for dogs.

There's plenty of opportunities for days out in the Tampa Bay area; thrill seekers will enjoy the rides at Busch Gardens Tampa and Adventure Island Water-park; families the Florida Aquarium, Tampas Lowry Park Zoo and Dinosaur World; nature lovers can explore by canoe and discover the natural Florida through a 16,000 acre wilderness park on the Hillsbourough River.
Further points of interest includes the Tampa Bay History Centre, offering three floors of exhibits exploring 12,000 years of Florida's history and culture; and walking tours around the historic Yabor City.
Out and About
There are no shortage of shops, restaurants, bars and night time entertainment in the Tampa Bay area with options available for everyone; a popular spot at the weekend for its variety of nightclubs, bars and Cuban restaurants is Yabor City.
There are plenty of ways to get around Tampa should you choose not to have a hire car; a streetcar service connects to Yabor City and a downtown retail and entertainment complex; there is a wide bus network and taxis are readily available throughout the city. The Tampa Riverwalk is a pedestrian walkway along the Hillsborough River which connects to some of the city's cultural venues and points of interest.
Legoland and its Waterpark are just a 45-minute drive from Tampa, ideal for a family day out. Legoland has more than 50 rides, shows and attractions, plenty of dining options, shops and a botanical garden. The Legoland Waterpark has a wave pool, water slides, lazy river and a kids splash pool.
The attractions of Orlando such as Disney and Universal Studios are around a 90 minute drive away.
