There are a few shops and some fish restaurants in the area but otherwise the area is surrounded by All Inclusive hotels and a stunning sandy beach.
Beaches
The Bahia Maimon beach is rated amongst the Worlds top 10 beaches due to its powdery sands and shallow waters. The beach has a handful of beachfront restaurants and there is a choice of non motorised watersports. There is good snorkelling and snorkelling in this area.
Things to Do
The resort of Puerto Plata is less than half an hours drive away where there is a range of sightseeing options including the San Felipe Fort, amber museum and a rum distillery. There is also a cable car which rises up over 800 metres to the peak of Mount Isabel de Torres where there is a statue of Christ and rainforest garden at the top.
