In a quiet location but just a short walk to the main strip in one direction and a fantastic beach in the other. Food ok though quite Spanish orientated and rather a lot of fish dishes. Though the apartments didn't seem busy and the restaurant was even quieter there was still plenty of food on offer to eat both at breakfast and dinner. Fresh fruit was delicious.

All in all we were happy with hotel and staff, only fault I have is there is no entertainment at all, even though they advertise it on a board, they advertise kids disco every night which never happened and pool games during the day again which never happened. The staff at hotel are excellent nothing is too much trouble. Our room was lovely and clean, pool was small but big enough for amount of people who use it. Hotel has large number of French and Dutch staying there and the food tries to accommodate all but if you are a tiny bit of a fussy eater you will struggle, my 3 kids struggled everyday except for the English day when they had hotdogs and chicken nuggets. But the minor issues did not spoil my holiday and I would go again. The hotel is located at the top of a hill so if you have any issues with walking it will not be the place for you.

It was everything we had expected, in fact the publicity picture could have been our balcony! We asked for a sea view, we got it. We asked for air conditioning, we got it.
I was concerned about the breakage deposit, having heard anything from 200 euro - 300, but they only asked for 110 euro, which was returned, in cash, almost without asking! I also booked a late checkout (until 3pm) but they also had a luggage room with shower, toilet etc and the key was held by reception. We only tried the pool once (it was cold!), but the nearest beach was a small cove, which was only a short downhill walk, and never really as busy as the main beaches in Salou. It had a small beach bar and a toilet and the usual showers to wash off most of the sand before climbing the hill back to the hotel. Towels were changed 4 or 5 times throughout the week, which was handy, and there were a number of small supermarkets within an easy walk away. The Albatros is located in a quiet part of Salou, which was welcome after the hustle and bustle in the main town. Nice to chill on the balcony with a couple of drinks, usually into the early hours! All in all, you get what you pay for. I arranged the accommodation myself, based on the reviews, didn't stretch my expectations and we were not disappointed. There was plenty of space, particularly on the balcony, but some decorative elements would benefit from updating (bathroom and kitchen). We had no complaints!
