The ClubHotel Riu Merengue is beautifully positioned on the beach in Maimon Bay, close to the resort area of Puerto Plata which is approximately 9km away.
Puerto Plata International Airport is approx 25km from ClubHotel Riu Merengue.
Facilities
This sprawling complex is made of three hotels (ClubHotel Riu Bachata and the ClubHotel Mambo) and shares some facilities.
On-site facilities include a 24 hour reception desk and a currency exchange bureau. Room and laundry services are offered (local charge may apply) and parking is available for those arriving by car.
Settled in the middle of the complex is Caribbean Street where there is a range of shops including a hairdresser's salon, chemist and photographic shop..
Guests can relax beside the outdoor swimming pool where there is a sun terrace furnished with sunbeds and parasols.
Alternatively for those seeking more active pursuits there are floodlit tennis courts, fitness centre, billiards and a range of non motorised watersports can be found at the beach.
A Spa offering a range of beauty and massage treatments will suit those seeking total relaxation.
Guests have a choice of dining establishments including a buffet restaurant with show cooking, a poolside snack bar and guests may also dine and use the bars at the other two Riu Hotels within this complex.
The hotel provides regular entertainment including a disco and there is a casino at Riu Bachata.
For the younger guests there is a children's swimming area of the main pool and a kids club to keep them entertained throughout the day.

Spread over 3 floors, all 544 air conditioned guest rooms are provided with 2 queen-size beds, satellite TV, mini bar, in room safe and ensuite bathroom with bath. Each room also has a balcony or terrace and ceiling fan.
Suites are available with living room, extra TV and bathroom with bidet and hair dryer available at a supplement.
