Young Couples Holiday Together After Just 4 Months

Our latest survey has revealed that young couples are keen to get away together, as the average young couple goes on holiday together after just 4 months of being in a relationship. Turkish destinations have proved to be a firm favourite for those going away together for the first time, with the results showing that women are chiefly responsible for the organising and booking.
We carried out the research as part of an ongoing study into the holiday habits and preferences of people around the UK. 1,892 UK adults aged between 18 and 30 took part in the study, each of whom was in a relationship and had been abroad with their partner already. Respondents answered questions surrounding the details of their couples' holiday.
When asked, 'How long into your relationship did you go abroad with your partner?' the average answer stated by the respondents taking part was '4 months'. All those taking part were then asked to rate their experience of their first holiday abroad with their partner, to which a quarter, 24%, said it had been 'perfect'.
However, 32% felt it had been 'too soon' to go and that they had rushed things somewhat, whilst 19% said it was 'just average'. All respondents were asked about their choice of destination for their first holiday abroad with their current partner.
When taking all answers into account, the most popular destinations amongst young couples holidaying together for the first time abroad were as follows:
1. Turkey 28%
2. Egypt 22%
3. Spain 19%
4. Greece 11%
5. Portugal 7%
When asked who had taken charge of the organisation of the first holiday abroad in the relationship, in terms of planning and booking, the poll found women to be the chief organisers; with 72% of respondents agreeing.
It's great to see so many young couples jetting off on holiday! It can be great to get away from the stresses and strains of everyday life and just relax. Some people may even find that four months is too soon, but going away together gives you the opportunity to really get to know each other without everyday life getting in the way!
