'Relaxation element' most enjoyable aspect of holidays

Respondents were able to specify the resort they'd stayed in, so we were able to determine where exactly in Spain the highest rated holidays were spent. The Costa del Sol, specifically Puerto Banus, was revealed as the most enjoyable holiday destination within Spain in terms of rating; and with the resort offering holidaymakers the chance to rub shoulders with the rich and famous down the road in Marbella, it's easy to see why.

When we asked everyone to explain what made a holiday enjoyable for them, the most common answer was the 'relaxation element' (62%), followed by 'the activities available' (51%) and 'the food' (44%).

Wherever you go on holiday, it can always be enjoyable. It's not all about the destination and where you spend the trip, but rather about what you make it. You could visit the most beautiful parts of the world and waste time drinking all day and night in the bars, rather than seeing the sites, but everyone has different opinions of what makes a holiday enjoyable.

Each to their own I say! As long as you return home feeling as though you've had a great time, that's all that matters.
