Hotel excellent, everything very clean and staff friendly maybe with the exemption of the hotel pool bar staff; they could hardly be bothered to speak at all. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice as well as fresh tea and coffee, not from a machine. To sum up this was a really good hotel in an excellent position, just a 15 minute walk from the centre of the town, we would definitely stay again. Another brilliant holiday booked with Sunshine holidays.

The staff at Gardenia only have one intention: to ensure that their guests have a fabulous time at their hotel. All staff were accommodating and helpful at all times, reception staff were always eager to help and the dining room staff were as consistently cheerful as the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The Gardenia has undergone refurbishment and it has been completed to a high standard, the hotel is extremely clean and the lovely ladies who clean it were very efficient and very quick! The rooms overlooking the pool are definitely recommended but for the price you pay to stay in what is generally known as an expensive area the rooms on the side and front are still worth the money, and taking in to account the hotel has the pool and sunbathing area, The Gardenia was most certainly a find! Yes the road outside is busy and yes it is a little walk to the main shops but I was so pleasantly surprised, after reading all the reviews that I could find I honestly thought we would need trekking boots, a torch and a map! It is nothing like that at all and with the well stocked and friendly drinking hole that is Shannon's on the way; it was no problem at all! Where the Gardenia is positioned actually leaves the hub bub behind which we enjoyed. The pool was lovely, we were there during Italian 'holiday time' and at no time were there fewer than a dozen spare sunbeds - perfect! Taking the dash for a sunbed element from a holiday for us was a joy. We spent a few hours on the roof terrace, (an underused gem in our opinion!) was delightful. I would definitely recommend Gardenia and we hope to visit again.
