We've had a look into some statistics from our site, which revealed which holiday resorts around the world have the highest 'return' rate, in terms of the resorts that holidaymakers frequently return to after already having had a break there.

For some holidaymakers, variety is the spice of life when it comes to the resorts they visit when they go away, with many preferring to try out a new place each time. However, others prefer to stick to what they know and like. Our site stats have revealed which resorts around the world have the highest 'return rate', in terms of holidaymakers going back a second time.

We wanted to see which resorts played host to the most loyal holidaymakers and where in the World people seemed to go back to more than once, suggesting the places people seemed to like the most.

When looking back through booking statistics through the site, we were particularly interested in cases where the same person or people had been to the same resort on more than one occasion; returning to the resort after an initial holiday there.

Marmaris was the resort with the highest return rate

According to the statistics, Marmaris in Turkey was the resort with the highest 'return rate' in terms of people going back there for a second holiday after already visiting. The top ten resorts with the highest return rate were as follows;

1. Marmaris, Turkey

2. Playa de las Americas, Tenerife (Spain)

3. Albufeira, Portugal

4. Costa Adeje, Tenerife (Spain)

5. Protaras, Cyprus

6. Benidorm, Spain

7. Icmeler, Turkey

8. Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt

9. Playa d'en Bossa, Ibiza (Spain)

10. Olu Deniz, Turkey

The Canary and Baleariac Islands featured most in the list of resorts with the highest return rate

Spanish resorts, particularly those in the Canary and Balearic Islands, featured most in the list of resorts with the highest return rate, whilst those with the lowest return rate included resorts in Bulgaria, the US and Caribbean Islands.

Destinations such as Marmaris and the Balearics often have great holiday deals available, which helps to explain why they might have such a high return rate. Places like the USA and the Caribbean, whilst lovely, are very expensive, which could be why they feature further down the list.
