Cyprus Air Traffic Controllers Strike

Posted by Sue Anderson, 6th Mar 2012

Cyprus air traffic controllers have set a string of dates for strike action, due to an argument with the government over wage disputes.

The air traffic controllers strike will affect both Larnaca and Paphos airports, and are planned for the 7th (Wed), 12th (Mon) and 15th (Thur) March expecting to last at least 4 hours on each day, though this may change.

The dates have been chosen on the airports busiest days, with many of the UK's flights affected.

Thomson flights depart from London-Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow into Paphos on a Wednesday; as do the Monarch Airlines flights Luton to Larnaca and from Birmingham to both Larnaca and Paphos Airports. Easyjet also has a daily schedule from London-Gatwick into Paphos.

Passengers are asked to contact their airline before travelling.
