Location
Raffles Hotel is situated on the 500 metre long sandy beach in the bay of Anse Takamaka. The colourful underwater world of the Curieuse National Marine Park lies off the bay and the island of Curieuse can be reached by taxi boat. The hotel is approx 7.5km from Praslin Airport. Transfers from Mahe Airport to Praslin Island take approx 15 minutes by air or 1 hour by ferry.
Facilities
Raffles Hotel has 2 large outdoor infinity pools, complete with loungers, parasols and a pool-side bar serving drinks and snacks. The Spa has 13 treatment rooms with panoramic ocean views, a fitness studio, a relaxing garden, a sauna and whirlpool, sensation showers and a soaking pool. The Spa offers a menu of treatments and also has a beauty salon, personal trainers and a range of fitness classes.
The hotel organise a variety of leisurely activities for adults and children including petanque, table tennis, hiking, beach football, crab hunting, snorkelling, arts and crafts, morning jogs, movies and fitness sessions. Kids clubs are divided into ages groups catering to the under 4's, 4-12 year olds and teenagers aged 13-18.
Water sports including snorkelling, scuba diving, diving, kayaking and deep sea fishing are readily available and sight-seeing tours, island hopping boat trips and catamaran excursions can be arranged.
The hotel has a good choice of bars and restaurants including the main restaurant which is open for breakfast and evening meals with a daily changing menu, a seafood restaurant for evening meals near the pool, a lounge bar and terrace facing the ocean, a pool-side bar and an outdoor roof-top lounge bar. Garden picnics or private meals on the beach or on a yacht can also be arranged.
Amenities and services available to guests include a boutique, CD and DVD library, concierge and butler services, laundry and dry cleaning, baby-sitting and 24 hour in-room dining.
Rooms
There are 74 one bedroom villas each of which has a large terrace and a private plunge pool and 12 suites which have a choice of one or two bedrooms, a terrace and a barbecue.
All accommodation features contemporary styling and has a bathroom with a view, an outdoor rain shower, WiFi, 42" plasma TV and DVD player, MP3 dock, an electronic safe and tea and coffee making facilities.
