Port Elizabeth is located on the South Eastern Coast of South Africa and is the major sea port and tourist destination. It is known as "The Friendly City" due to its atmosphere. In terms of area, Port Elizabeth is the second largest city in South Africa. If its sunshine and sandy beaches you are wanting then here is the place to be. Perfect for scuba diving with a number of great spots to choose from including shipwrecks, coral reefs and beautifully coloured fish. Visibility in the water is up to 30 metres. Temperatures here are moderate all year round with rain scattered throughout the year. Summers are lovely and warm and winters are mild and pleasant. Port Elizabeth is full of historical sights including the Historic Donkin Heritage Trail, taking you along a 5 km trail visiting 47 historical sights along the way. It is also home to the world famous Port Elizabeth Cricket Club.
