How Hot?

With only two seasons; summer and winter, weather on all the Hawaiian Islands is consistent, with only slight changes in temperature throughout the year. The summer months run from May to October, with an average temperature of 85ºF (29ºC) and the winter months have an average of 78ºF (25ºC) running from November to April. However temperatures can drop dramatically at higher elevations.

The sea temperatures average at 74ºF, rising to 80ºF in the summer and wave conditions can vary considerably between island coasts and seasons. Summer waters are generally gentle on all beaches, while the winter months on many of the islands north shore beaches are where Hawaii's renowned waves can be found. If the large waves are not for you, calmer water can always be found at a more sheltered beach.

The islands have a collection of many diverse micro-environments, each with its own weather, plants and animals. All within a few miles you can experience tropical rainforests, cool alpine regions, volcanic deserts and sunny beaches.

The Hawaiian Islands boast some of the world's most dramatic scenery, including tropical rainforest, miles upon miles of sandy beaches, gushing waterfalls and exotic flowers in abundance, a truly perfect destination for couples, families and adventurers.

Hawaii is home to one of the world's most active volcanoes (Kilauea), the tallest sea mountain in the world at more than 33,000 feet (Maunakea), the most massive mountain in the world (Maunaloa) and the largest park in the state (Hawaii Volcanoes National Park) so it is definitely worth exploring.

There are a large number of challenging golf courses on the island which, as you can imagine offer a beautiful backdrop against some dramatic scenery. Some of the large hotels offer championship golf courses and state of the art spa facilities.

Golf isn't the only sport that is popular here. An abundance of watersports are popular here and given the great weather, beautiful beaches and calm, clear waters, it is no big surprise.

There are many and attractions and landmarks but perhaps the most popular is Pearl Harbour, the largest natural harbour in the state and the only naval base in the US to be recognised as a National Historical Landmark. There are 4 museums here so there is the opportunity to learn a great deal about the events and history of the past.

Hawaii offers tourists a fusion of many foods originating from China, America, Japan and Portugal, with food sources being imported over. Tuna is the most important fish on Hawaii and come in different varieties including Yellowfin, Albacore and Skipjack tuna. Breadfruit is also very popular on the island and every tourist should give it a try whilst on holiday here.
