Puerto Mogan

The resort boasts pretty white washed houses and Italian style bridges and the quaint atmosphere has earned the village the nickname of 'Little Venice'. The focal point of this resort is the marina with a maze of streets and alleyways. The resort is a good choice for families and couples looking for a traditional resort. Transfer time is 1 hour 15 minutes.

Beaches

Puerto Mogan has a sweeping beach of pale golden sand and the waters in the bay are sheltered for swimming by a large breakwater and the marina. At the beach you can hire loungers, parasols and pedaloes, with more activities available in and around the marina.

Things to Do

From the marina you can take boat trips, go dolphin and whale spotting, take deep sea fishing trips in hunt of the prized blue marlins and underwater excursions on the yellow submarine. There are also ferries which run to the marinas and harbours at Arguineguin, Anfi del Mar, Puerto Rico and Las Meloneras.

Off shore there are a number of wrecks and caves to explore and there are diving centres in the resort offering PADI courses, scuba diving and guided boat dives.

A little further along the coast, behind Taurito beach is the Lago Oasis water park (5km) and, continuing east, you will find the beautiful Anfi Tauro Golf Club (10km) which boasts an 18 hole championship course as well as a 9 hole course.

Out and About

The pretty sea front village of Puerto Mogan comprises a maze of narrow streets and a riot of colourful flowers; a sheltered, sandy beach, an attractive marina and a traditional fishing harbour. A large street market is held at Puerto Mogan on Fridays.

There are numerous restaurants surrounding the marina and the beach and, as there is also a working fishing harbour, you could enjoy a fresh fish supper whilst watching the sunset.

Nearby Attractions

Heading inland and passing through the rugged mountainous landscape and rural hamlets towards the small town of Mogan (8.5km) you will pass the village of Molino de Viento. Here you can see the restored Molino Quemao, which is the tallest windmill on the island and is set in a small cactus garden with sculptures of over-sized kitchen equipment.

If you continue past Mogan, heading north east for a further 18km, you will come to the large Soria dam and its waterfall, surrounded by pine clad mountains, tropical fruit groves and palm trees.
