The Sandos Playacar Resort & Spa is a hotel ideally located on a glorious sandy beach, within a short distance from Playa del Carmen main town, the pier to Cozumel and a 45 minute drive from the Cancun International Airport.

Within the resort guests will find four swimming pools, one of which is a private adults only pool, nursery, mini cafe and childrens pool. Furthermore there is an exciting arcade room for children of all ages and an indoor and outdoor theater. The resort offers many facilities and services for everyone. There are meeting and banquet rooms and a board meeting room. A travel and car rental agency, a boutique, money exchange bureau, photo shop and medical service.
Sport facilities at the hotel include tennis (day & night), tennis equipment, archery, darts, boccia, table tennis, dancing courses, gym, sauna pool/tanning area for adults, games rooms (with billiards, ping pong, backgammon, chess, dominoes and cards), football, basketball, aerobics, calisthenics, beach activities, pool games, water aerobics, water polo, beach volleyball, water volleyball, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, boogie board, snorkel gear & scuba diving lessons in the pool, kids club from 10:00-23:00 (2-4yrs, 4-8yrs, 8-12yrs) with supeervised activities programme, teen's club from 10:00-21:00) (12-17yrs), bicycle tours during the day (adults only), guided walking tours, language lessons as well as nightly entertainment with cabaret shows, music halls and theme nights.

The standard rooms comprise of a bathroom with shower, hair dryer, air conditioning, Satellite TV, telephone and mini-bar (mineral water, refreshments and beers). The balcony has views of the garden or views of the sea. The Hacienda Junior Suite has two double beds or one king size bed. There is a living area with one double sofa bed. The balcony overlooks an exuberant native forest. A private deluxe spacious bathroom, hairdryer, air conditioning, Satellite TV, telephone, safety deposit box and a mini bar with mineral water, soft drinks and beer. Connecting rooms are available, subject to availability. The Sandos Royal Club Room has special amenities which include a dressing gown for each adult, bath cap, mouthwash, hydrastine cream, coffee, air conditioning, telephone, Satellite TV, VIP mini-bar which consists of mineral water, natural water, regularrefreshments and of diet, juice and beer clara/oscura, welcome fruit basket, Radio/clock alarm, iron and ironing board. The balcony has a view of the sea.

The AI programme consists of breakfast (07:00-10:30), lunch (12:30-15:00) and dinner (18:30-22:00), all buffet style (international), served in the main restaurant La Laguna as well as at the El Bandido with international & Mexican buffet (Br:08:00-10:30, L:12:30-15:00, D:18:30-22:00). Buffet dinner is also served at the Italian restaurant from 18:3022:00. Also at the disposal of the AI guests are three A la Carte restaurants for dinner between 18:30 & 21:30, upon reservation; La Riviera (Mediterranean specialties with salad & dessert bar), El Gaucho (grill/steakhouse with salad & dessert bar), Oriental (oriental cuisine). During meals water, soda, beer, wine, coffee and milk are offered (self service). Snacks such as hot dogs, sandwiches, pizza, pasta and French fries are available at the beach bar (12:0017:00), at the pool snack (12:0017:00) and at the bar La Plaza (22:3007:00). Tea time is at 17:00. Locally produced alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks like water, orange juice, whiskey, brandy, cocktails, beer, soft drinks, soda, mineral water, coffee and milk are served at all the ten bars of the property between 11:00 & 02:00 as well as at the restaurants during meals and disco. 24hrs room service is also available.
