In easy reach of beautiful beaches, the city of Havana is a UNESCO World Heritage site with historic buildings dating back to the 15th century. The charming streets are full of classic cars and there is a wealth of museums, art galleries and cultural attractions.

Things to Do

Explore the colonial quarter of Havana, visit the museums and art galleries that sit amid historic buildings surrounding the Cathedral Square and Parade Square.

From Central Park stroll along the Paseo del Prado to the Malecon which runs along-side the ocean, see the Morro Castle, the Cathedral of Havana, visit the rum factory near the cruise terminal and stroll back through ChinaTown.

Heading along the coast to the west of the city to the Marina Hemingway, you can take sailing trips and tours to the coral reefs, go snorkelling and fishing.

Out and About

In the elegant and trendy Vedado district wander along La Rampa, stopping for ice cream at the famous La Coppelia ice cream parlour. Continue walking through the huge Colon Cemetery and its grand mausoleums and into Revolution Square.

In the evenings soak up the sounds of the Latin American music and, for a memorable night out, see the show at the famous Tropicana Nightclub.

Nearby Attractions

To the east of the city (8km) you can visit the fishing village of Cojimar, given literary fame by Ernest Hemingway and now home to the author's fishing boat, the El Pilar. A little inland from here, you can visit the Hemingway Museum at Finca La Vigia.

Approx 15km east of the city lie the coconut palms and beautiful white sand beaches of Playa del Este including Playa Santa Maria and Playa Bacuraneo.
