As well as the many activities available during the day, there are plenty of restaurants, bars and discos offering a good selection of nightlife.

Beaches

Negril is home to the famous Seven Mile Beach; seven miles of soft white sands lapped by the calm, shallow and warm blue sea, perfect for sunbathing, walking and swimming. There are plenty of activities available along the beach, such as banana boats and water trampolines, snorkelling and scuba diving, jet skis and parasailing. Located on the western most part of the island, the beach is a lovely spot from which to watch the best of the sunsets too.

A little north of Seven Mile Beach you will find quieter beaches including the picturesque Bloody Bay and the secluded Half Moon Beach.

Things to Do

Take a catamaran cruise and go swimming and snorkelling off the boat or, take a glass bottom boat trip and see the colourful marine life. Go deep sea fishing or sailing or take a trip to the uninhabited island of Booby Cay, snorkel the reefs and enjoy a picnic lunch.

Kool Runnings Water Park, on the Norman Manley Boulevard, offers fun for all ages with a range of thrill slides, a kid's zone, go-karts, horse-riding and restaurants.

At Negril Cliffs you can watch the cliff jumpers diving from the cliffs into the sea or admire stunning coastline views from the 19th century lighthouse. Rick's Cafe is a popular hangout, day and night, and perfectly located for watching the sunset.

Negril Hills Golf Club is located just 4km back from Seven Mile Beach and has an 18 hole par 72 course with a putting green, tennis court, pro shop and restaurant.

Out and About

Beach vendors, shops, bars and restaurants line the beach and you will often hear live reggae music playing.

For souvenirs you have the small but charming shopping centres at Time Square Mall and Bayside Village. There is a Craft Market by the Negril River Bridge where you can buy original artisan products and a smaller market with hand-crafted items along the Norman Manley Boulevard.

Nearby Attractions

Rhodes Hall Plantation (13km) is a protected area and offers a variety of activities. You can go horse riding, snorkelling, fishing and bird watching; take tours of the mangroves and crocodile reserve and; see the underground lake and hidden chambers on a tour through the mile long caverns of Arawak Cave.

There are several picturesque waterfalls surrounded by lush countryside, approx 1 hour east of Negril; take a trip to Mayfield Falls, Discovery Falls or YS Falls.
