Cheap Holidays to Grenada
Well worth a visit is St George, the capital of Grenada which is said to be the most picturesque city in the Caribbean. Another couple of options for a day out are the Grand Etang National Park which is home to wild monkeys and tropical birds and the Concord Falls which is such a beautiful natural landmark, you will not want to miss.

How Hot?
Grenada has plenty of sunshine to offer its visitors with average temperatures ranging from 75ºF to 85ºF. The coolest time to visit is between November and February, the driest season is between January and May and the wettest from June to December, though rarely raining for more than an hour at a time.
Hurricane season runs from July to mid-November with September and October generally the most active months for hurricanes or tropical storms. While the likelihood of a direct hit is small, if travelling during hurricane season, we recommend you check your travel insurance cover before you leave, and shop around if necessary to make sure you have the necessary cover.
Out and About
The beautiful island of Grenada boasts miles of lush tropical National Park, beautiful waterfalls and some of the best scenery in the Caribbean. Although there are 45 beaches in Grenada, there is so much more on offer such as sailing, diving, hiking and general exploring.
One of the best beaches is probably the stretch of white sand at the Grand Anse area and like most beaches in Grenada, it can become quite busy during the summer months but there are quieter beaches such as Mourne Rouge, Levera and Bathway.
As you would expect, the clear blue, warm waters are just perfect for windsurfing, snorkelling and diving and with dive centres on the island, it is easy to explore the many wrecks and ruins underwater. The watersports centre at Secret Harbour provides speedboat trips to Hog Island, where you can waterski, windsurf and snorkel.
For an unforgettable experience, why not take a trip to watch the Humpback whale. December to April is migration season and on some trips you may even see pilot whales and perhaps swim with dolphins.
The most popular and largest attraction in Grenada is Fort George which was built in 1705 and offers some fantastic views of the harbour. Another must see is St George, the capital. With it's pretty hilltop harbour covered in 19th century houses with red fish scale roof tiles, it really is a beautiful sight.
Grenada is just great for relaxing beach holidays but if you want to get up and go, there is plenty to keep you occupied.
Out for Lunch!
Grenada's cuisine has a wide variety of spices grown on the island including cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg. Vegetables, fruits, bread, rice and peas feature highly in the Grenadian diet. Breadfruit is a very popular vegetable which grows all over the island. It is cooked and prepared the same way as potatoes but has a nutty flavour to it and is the main ingredient of the national dish Oil Down. Grenadian cuisine takes influences from African, Indian and Chinese foods.
A stroll down the streets will take you to the bustling marketplaces where you can take in the aromas and smells of the spices used in cooking. If you want to try local dishes then try Callaloo, a leafy spinach like vegetable, West Indian Pumpkin and a fruit known as Stinking Toe, a pod in the shape of a toe with an evil smell and rough skin. The Powder is used in custard or as a beverage.
