The French have always been very proud of their way of cooking, where they use fresh vegetables, fruit and local produce. The baguette is the most important part of any French meal, everyone must have a piece with their meal. At some meals guests will spear forks with bits of bread and dip into pots of melted cheese known as La Fondue.

The cuisine in France is very varied depending on where you are in the country depends on what is served. In Brittany the main dish is Crepes with cider, Loire River Valley region eat Lotte Fish that can only be found in Loire River and in the Alsace region the main dish is La Choucroute, cabbage with pieces of sausage. Along the coast of France it is very common to eat seafoods like mussel, oysters, squid and clams. Everyone has to try the very popular Escargots cooked in garlic and butter whilst in France, it is a must!

French really enjoy their food and savour every moment. Meals can last a long time with lunch lasting approximately 2 hours and dinner lasting longer. You can dine in anything from a snack bar up to a luxury restaurant serving stunning cuisine.
