Beaches

There is a good choice of in and around Bridgetown. Go swimming and snorkeling at Freshwater Bay, Paradise Beach and Batts Rock Beach or, laze on the beach at Needhams Point.

Carlisle Bay is a popular spot for wreck diving and you can enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving at its colourful underwater park.

Things to Do

Bridgetown is the capital city and is home to many historic attractions, British colonial architecture and places of interest.

You can see St Michaels Cathedral and the Parliament Buildings, walk through National Heroes Square and see the Lord Nelson Statue and Dolphin Fountain, the Chamberlain Bridge which crosses the Carneege, Independence Square and the Independence Arch.

Out and About

The Transport Board run an island sightseeing bus tour every Sunday afternoon, departing from Independence Square.

For local handicrafts, the Pelican Village provides an attractive shopping complex on the waterfront, near the harbour.
