Men Aren't Confident Letting Their Partners Go On Ladies-Only Holidays

Posted by Sue Anderson, 18th Jun 2015

We all get that pang of jealousy when our partner goes on a single-sex holiday without us. We know we can't go, but we're still jealous that they're going on a holiday and we're not. But do you find yourself getting nervous and worrying about what they'll go up to whilst away? It turns out men worry more about that then women do.

Men are uncomfortable with ladies-only holidays

We asked 2,306 Britons in a relationship, all over the age of 21, how they felt about their partner going on a single-sex holiday. Two thirds of men, 69% admitted that they were "uncomfortable" and "wouldn't like it" in comparison to 38% of women who admitted they'd too feel the same.

Only 21% of men and 43% of women admitted they "wouldn't mind at all" about their partner going on a single-sex holiday.

Women worry they'll be cheated on

We asked all the female respondents to list what they were most worried about if their partner was to go away with just the lads. The most popular reasons were:

1. Worried about them cheating - 42%

2. Wouldn't want to fend for myself - 21%

3. Concerns about their safety - 17%

4. Worried they would re-evaluate the relationship whilst away - 8%

5. Concerned that they would spend to excess - 5%

Men worry more about their partner's safety

Similarly, we asked the male respondents to list what they were most worried about and more were worried about their partner's safety than they were about being cheated on:

1. Concerns about their safety - 36%

2. Worried they will drink to excess - 27%

3. Worried about them cheating - 21%

4. Worried they will break the law/get arrested - 6%

5. Worried they would run out of money - 3%

Could it be a make or break?

The results of the survey threw out a shocker though...

Whilst 44% of women admitted to going on a ladies-only holiday, and 17% of men admitted to being on a lads-only holiday, surprisingly 19% of men would consider breaking up with their partner if they went on a girls' holiday. It's actually the women who are more OK with it, with only 6% threatening to break up with their partner if they want on a lads' holiday.

This is a bit extreme - worrying about something that may never happen is inevitable when you're so far away, but if you trust them then you have to trust that they're going to be OK and be faithful to you. It's not worth breaking up with someone over. Let them go and have fun, you've got your entire lives to settle down and lead a serious life, have fun whilst you still can.
