Mary who runs Sun Maris studios makes everyones holiday special. The whole place is spotlessly clean, the pool is a lovely area with sun beds readily available. Tasty treats are available and Mary is often around to give you an extra piece of cake or some sweets.

Me and my other half stayed at Sun Maris Apartments for 10 days in July 2013. We chose to stay here after reading all of the 5 star reviews; mainly about the owner. Mary is unlike any other I have ever met, she was so accommodating and made our holiday feel like we were staying with family rather than at a complex. She stayed up late (as our flight came in late) and met us on arrival, helped us with our bags and took us to our room. The room was basic, similar to most Greek hotels but very clean. Shower room, balcony with chairs/table and kitchenette comprising gas hob, sink, fridge and crockery/cutlery in cupboards. We didn't feel rushed and she told us to sort ourselves out first then come down when ready to check in. After checking in, we sat in the snack bar and chatting between ourselves whilst Mary offered us a welcome drink each.

We paid 20 euros for the safe for the whole 10 days. Our flight back wasn't until 11pm and we managed to get late check out for an extra 25 euro which made our last day much more relaxing. The air conditioning was 7 euro per day which is more than worth it in July. Luckily for us there was a slight breeze during our holiday but the days when there was no wind, the heat was pretty unbearable. It was bliss to go into our air conditioned apartment after a day by the pool.

The pool area was idyllic, lovely sized pool with additional small children's pool. Sun loungers by the pool already set up with parasols. Snack bar open during the day when busy. Mary cooks everything herself and to order, so lunch there was really nice. We tended to have a side of chips with bacon and cheese sandwiches each, as the bread rolls were lovely.

We went to Rhodes Town for the day; bus is 2.20 euro one way, but we managed to get a taxi with another couple for 12 euro so no complaints. Sights for the Old Town was wonderful and so many restaurants to choose from. Even though we didn't visit there, the bus to Lindos is 4.40 euro one way.

The maid visited every day apart from Sunday. There were a few days when we said that no cleaning was required (as we had clean towels and tended to have a bit of sun stroke) and this was no issue to her at all. Nothing was too much trouble for Mary.

Situated only about a 10 minute stroll to the beach and Bar Street if turning left exiting the apartments, but we would recommended turning right and going to Mikes Bar to try one of their amazing pizzas! And also Alabama Bar which has brilliant drinks offers (2 cocktails for 5 euro), lovely staff and cheap food. These were the only two places that we visited more than once during our holiday.

The apartments overlook a stunning church with a 'Morrisons Euromart' over the road which is open until around 1am. If the poolside snack bar isn't open during the day, there is bakery next door which makes fresh sandwiches to order and has lovely ice cream.

Overall, I would say that the Sun Maris is ideal for both couples and families. Perfect location, beautiful owner and relaxing atmosphere; what more could you ask for? Without a shadow of a doubt I will return in the future, possibly with my sister/best friend for some sun, sea and girly time.

You could not ask for a better place to stay in Faliraki than Sun Maris. Clean roomy studios, very nice pool, bar and a nice place for an evening meal. Very close to all the things you wish for on holidays; just five or ten minutes from the night life and beach, main road to Rhodes twenty minutes, Lindos thirty minutes.

Fantastic! Mary, the owner, was the perfect host; the hotel is ideally located 10 minutes from the beach and just minutes from the bars and tavernas. The hotel is spotless, the pool too and the gardens are immaculately kept. We would definitely return, our previous stays included a 2 and then a 4 week stay and the majority of people staying there are return guests, so that says it all!
