Very dated, decor from 1980s needs urgent refurbishment, rooms clean but sea view promised is now a building site as another hotel being built opposite. Evening entertainment very poor, definitely not a young children’s hotel, predominantly elderly I would say this was aimed at.

This was our second holiday at the Aloe, which really tells you all you need to know. As before, we found it comfortable, friendly and unpretentious. It's well-located within easy walking distance of Paphos Harbour, shops and restaurants, and just across the road from the municipal beach.

We had a room at the back overlooking the pool area, which was quieter than the seaview room we had last time, and had a fridge we could put our own stuff in without extra charge, which was a big improvement on an expensive minibar. The hotel interior and exterior areas were scrupulously clean and tidy, beds comfortable and all staff professional without being intrusive.

Requests for help were dealt with quickly and competently. It's not the most luxurious or up-to-date hotel, but these things are not nearly as important as a relaxed atmosphere, cleanliness and good service, in my opinion.

Outdated in need of a complete refurb. Reception staff are helpful and polite but breakfast buffet staff are very rude. Breakfast was appalling quality, food not at all to our taste. This hotel is not worthy of a 4 star rating, no where near it, needs a complete over haul. No tea facilities in room, should be included in price of room. Charge for use of fridge, should be included price of room. The hotel surrounding Aloe are much better quality and worth the money, this place is awful. Only one good thing about it is the wifi in room was ok.

The hotel was meant to be affiliated with the Paphos Marathon but they didn't seem know anything about it. The breakfast was from 7am yet this was too late for the marathon runners, no alternative was suggested. The rooms do not have tea and coffee facilities as standard which is very strange for what is meant to be a 4 star hotel. I would say it's a nice 3 star. We had a family room which was very spacious. Location was very good.

Very good value for money. It's clean, has good food, very pleasant staff, beautiful pool and is in an excellent location. It is quite an old hotel but improvements are being made all the time and if you are not happy about something they will try to put it right. The other guests were so friendly and ready for a chat which is something we have not found in higher class of hotels. I think the fact that there were plenty of British holidaymakers there helped! We have often found on other holidays that we are surrounded by other nationalities or large groups who do not want to be friendly. I don't think it's suitable for children as the pools are very deep. Also it's lovely and quiet around the pools which suits the more mature guests. The evening entertainment is average with some nights none at all. However on those evenings they have a late Happy Hour as well as one at 6pm to 7pm, which make all the cocktails etc very affordable.

I stayed on a B&B basis, so can only comment on that experience. Room spotlessly clean, clean bedding and towels every day. Food at breakfast was good with a variety of cooked and continental style items. I went out every evening, so didn't see any of the entertainment, but generally, the hotel lounge did seem rather quiet on my returns, usually around 10.30/11.00 pm.

The pool was spotlessly clean, with free towels available daily and an abundance of sunbeds. The staff on reception were friendly, and very efficient at both check in and out. Parts of the hotel are a little tired looking and dated (nothing has changed since I first stayed there 11 years ago!), but I would be hard pressed to warrant that being a complaint.

The location is excellent - opposite one of the municipal beaches where there are sunbeds and umbrellas for hire, a short walk in to the harbour and a regular bus service outside the hotel. I would most definitely stay at the Aloe again!

Weren't told this was an elderly hotel which meant no water games, no music around the pool. Had to pay to have fridge access and also had to pay to have a kettle which is absolutely disgusting.

The hotel itself is ok for the price. A bit tired and in need of updating and the clientele are average age 70 years old. We knew all this before we booked so it wasn't a problem. The main problem occurred when we asked to have the air con (which is advertised as free) switched on because the room was hot and stuffy and we were told no, the management will not put the air con on as they decided it wasn't necessary! We had to leave the windows open all night so we could sleep, which allowed insects to enter, also the kitchen extractor was right under our balcony and woke us up at 6.30am every morning with horrendous noise!

The Aloe is a nice comfortable hotel. We have been holidaying there for some time now, in the May and October of each year. The food is good and the facilities good too.

This is the second year we have stayed at the Aloe, it is a very nice hotel. The only things that we would like improved is more evening entertainment as this made a huge difference in the evening as otherwise the bar was completely empty. Also, the food in the dining hall didn't seem as good as last year and a bit "the same" each night.

We stay at the Aloe Hotel for 14 nights each May and October of every year. The Aloe is a nice comfortable hotel with excellent facilities. The food caters for every taste and can be enjoyed by all. A nice ten minute walk from the Aloe is the harbour of Paphos and directly opposite there is access to a beach. My friends, my wife and I cannot wait to go back there in October 2013.

Ideally situated close to harbour and beach. Breakfasts were disappointing. Excellent range of food but rarely hot enough to really enjoy.
