Environment

Telde is a city which effortlessly drifts from modern constructions and open spaces to quaint narrow streets and pedestrianised alleyways lined with traditional Canarian buildings.

Things to Do

In the main historic quarter you can sit in the Plaza de San Juan and visit the 15th century church of San Juan Bautista, stroll along the Calle Leon y Castillo admiring colourful Canarian architecture and browse the house museum of Fernando Leon y Castillo.

Continue into the narrow cobbled streets, lined with white-washed dwelllings to the church of San Francisco; admire views over the surrounding countryside and return alongside the tropical gardens to the Church of San Pedro.

Crossing the San Gregorio park will take you to the busier side of town where there is a blend of modern shops, craft shops and cafes, bustling streets and pedestrianised walkways; in the midst of which sits the attractive Plaza of San Gregorio and its neo-classical temple.

At San Juan Park you can relax in landscaped gardens with wooded areas, lakes and pergola-shaded walkways. The park is a social area and has an amphitheatre and fountain, a BMX track, sports courts and a children's playground. Climb the clock tower for views over the whole park and beyond.
