Lovely beach, but not too many beds available, you had to be on the beach early to get one. Can Berto Restaurant was excellent. Very good service with interesting and well cooked food, however we found the rest of the cafes and restaurants pretty average with, to say the least, poor service, not unfriendly, just poor. My main gripe with the resort was the seeming prevalence in the hotels for charging for WI-FI , at 2 euros per day per device this could prove a huge expense for families.

Es Bruc restaurant is a must - great food and excellent view - there's a couple of supermarkets so you'll have everything you need. It seemed to be cheaper in Santo Tomas than other parts of the Island which was good.

As we hired a car for the duration of our holiday we spent no time in Santo Tomas as we were touring right around the island and only used the resort as a base. It did seem a nice quiet place and not too touristy.

Depends what you want. In October it's fairly quiet, but unlike 2014, there were a lot more restaurants and hotels open. The resort is very clean and has a good variety of accommodation. The beaches are quite lengthy and generally clean. There are 2 areas with lifeguards, areas with sunbeds and parasols. If you want to go naked, there's a remoter area for that! The Cami de Cavalls passes through Santo Tomas, so there's walking, horse riding and cycling opportunities. There are several minimarkets for stocking up on wine, water and food, a couple of cash points, buses that go to Mao and Ciutadella several times a day and a couple of car hire offices.

S.T. suited us but for many people it would be too quiet with a lack of shops etc. Again, it had all we required with a bar/internet cafe and supermarkets close by. Beach good, clean and friendly.

Santo Tomas is much quieter and relaxing than other resorts. The beaches are all so close to the accommodation. The shops are very good and not overly expensive. There is a mini golf course and some park areas for the children. The whole area is very clean, The path which runs besides the beaches is well lit and well kept. Santo Tomas is one of the most beautiful places and comes highly recommended for a holiday away from the humdrum of a bigger resort.

Small resort, two supermarkets which were quite expensive and a few shops. Ideal for us, but if you want karaoke bars / Brit bars / entertainment, it's not the place for you. We loved it but if you want a busy environment, you won't.

The night time was a little too quiet for me. At my age I should slow down a little but haven't yet. But that's me; and if you are looking for a quiet relaxing get-away-from-it-all place to chill out. Santo Tomas is ideal.

The resort has plenty to offer in the way of food outlets and has a beautiful beach and surrounding walks. There are hotels that cater for families which seem to be very popular. If you are looking for a peaceful holiday, this is the resort for you.

The resort was very clean and looked as if it would have been lovely in the season. However we went in half term week (the last week) and everything was closed. The restaurants all closed at the beginning of the week as did the supermarket and all the shops as they didn't know that half term is split over two weeks. Really needed a car as no bus service and had to travel 25 minutes by car on our last night to Cala Galdana to the last restaurant that was open. Also found the resort and Menorca as a whole very expensive. You would really need to go all inclusive if you were a family.

It's difficult to give a comprehensive impression of Sant Tomas, as I was there at the end of the season and used it as a base to explore other parts of Menorca. From the point of view of the latter it was excellent as it is fairly centrally placed along the south coast. Many of the other hotels/apartments/holiday lets and entertainments had closed for the season, so the resort for some people may be far too quiet. There were sufficient shops and bars open however. The beaches in the resort are good. However, during my week's stay there was a strong southerly wind thereby making bathing/swimming a challenge. A red flag was flying on 2 days. However, the beaches to the north of the island were sheltered from the wind, making them very warm with calm sea conditions. Sant Tomas has numerous car hire offices and a bus connection to the island's 2 main cities.

Santo Tomas benefited from a huge investment around 1998, which was well spent on making a family-friendly beach resort from a small fishing village. The whole island is an EEC nature reserve, and it is well-kept and clean. The sea appears clean and safe, although our daughter was once stung by a jelly-fish. We enjoy the choice of three sea-front restauants. Santo Tomas is quiet, unless you visit The Victoria Playa Hotel, where all-inclusive guests are entertained 24/7. We were very relaxed by the end of our holiday in Santo Tomas.

Probably the nicest part of the island. Lovely beach but be careful when you walk along the beach over the headland with children, as there is a nudist beach just past the last bar, and we're not talking young people either.

Beaches

At 3km long, the beach in Santo Tomas is one of the best and longest in Menorca. The beach is kept beautifully clean and is regularly patrolled. There is a safety warning flag system in place so be aware as the current can be quite strong at times. There are plenty of sunloungers available and a variety of water sports such as windsurfing, motor boats, jet skiing and pedalos. There is also a beach bar for a quick snack or a drink.

Things to Do

Scuba diving and snorkelling are also popular and there are many boat trips that will take you to places that are just perfect for snorkelling and diving. If you prefer to be on dry land you can take to the many paths and explore the area or do a little horse riding or some tennis, the choice is yours. There is also mini golf and children's playgrounds, so plenty things to do for everyone.

Out and About

As Santo Tomas is a purpose built resort, there are plenty of restaurants which cater for all tastes and budgets. There are many cafes and bars too so if it's just a snack you are looking for or a beautiful 3 course meal, you will find it here. Although there are a few bars, there is not really much in the way of nightlife but plenty if you are prepared to hop on a bus to nearby Son Bou or even Mahon.

There are some shops which is fine for the basics but if it is a day out shopping you are after then you would be best venturing to Mahon which is a shoppers paradise.

Nearby Attractions

Not only does Ciudadella have a great selection of shops and restaurants, there are also many historic things to see such as the 14th century gothic cathedral, a couple of museums and the remains of the fortified walls. For the perfect end to your day, venture down to the harbour for a drink and enjoy the atmosphere.

The capital, Mahon also has it's fair share of historic buildings such as La Mola, a gigantic fort which is located at the harbour side and the Baroque church of Santa Maria to name but a few. Many people come to Mahon to shop and will certainly not be disappointed. There are many bars and restaurants and nightclubs too, so it may well be worth saying over to take full advantage of what Mahon has to offer.

For golf lovers, there is a golf course, putting green and driving range at Son Bou. There is also a park here with a treasure hunt within a maze, water slides and arcades which is great for keeping the whole family entertained.

Take a trip to the small town of Es Mercadel with pretty little streets and rustic whitewashed houses. Once you have finished exploring, you may want to climb Monte Toro, Menorca's highest mountain. There are some fantastic views to be seen from the top and there is also a small cafe for refreshments.
