Lovely beach, but not too many beds available, you had to be on the beach early to get one. Can Berto Restaurant was excellent. Very good service with interesting and well cooked food, however we found the rest of the cafes and restaurants pretty average with, to say the least, poor service, not unfriendly, just poor. My main gripe with the resort was the seeming prevalence in the hotels for charging for WI-FI , at 2 euros per day per device this could prove a huge expense for families.

Very quiet, not for clubbers.

Es Bruc restaurant is a must - great food and excellent view - there's a couple of supermarkets so you'll have everything you need. It seemed to be cheaper in Santo Tomas than other parts of the Island which was good.

Beaches

At 3km long, the beach in Santo Tomas is one of the best and longest in Menorca. The beach is kept beautifully clean and is regularly patrolled. There is a safety warning flag system in place so be aware as the current can be quite strong at times. There are plenty of sunloungers available and a variety of water sports such as windsurfing, motor boats, jet skiing and pedalos. There is also a beach bar for a quick snack or a drink.

Things to Do

Scuba diving and snorkelling are also popular and there are many boat trips that will take you to places that are just perfect for snorkelling and diving. If you prefer to be on dry land you can take to the many paths and explore the area or do a little horse riding or some tennis, the choice is yours. There is also mini golf and children's playgrounds, so plenty things to do for everyone.

Out and About

As Santo Tomas is a purpose built resort, there are plenty of restaurants which cater for all tastes and budgets. There are many cafes and bars too so if it's just a snack you are looking for or a beautiful 3 course meal, you will find it here. Although there are a few bars, there is not really much in the way of nightlife but plenty if you are prepared to hop on a bus to nearby Son Bou or even Mahon.

There are some shops which is fine for the basics but if it is a day out shopping you are after then you would be best venturing to Mahon which is a shoppers paradise.

Nearby Attractions

Not only does Ciudadella have a great selection of shops and restaurants, there are also many historic things to see such as the 14th century gothic cathedral, a couple of museums and the remains of the fortified walls. For the perfect end to your day, venture down to the harbour for a drink and enjoy the atmosphere.

The capital, Mahon also has it's fair share of historic buildings such as La Mola, a gigantic fort which is located at the harbour side and the Baroque church of Santa Maria to name but a few. Many people come to Mahon to shop and will certainly not be disappointed. There are many bars and restaurants and nightclubs too, so it may well be worth saying over to take full advantage of what Mahon has to offer.

For golf lovers, there is a golf course, putting green and driving range at Son Bou. There is also a park here with a treasure hunt within a maze, water slides and arcades which is great for keeping the whole family entertained.

Take a trip to the small town of Es Mercadel with pretty little streets and rustic whitewashed houses. Once you have finished exploring, you may want to climb Monte Toro, Menorca's highest mountain. There are some fantastic views to be seen from the top and there is also a small cafe for refreshments.
